I am hoping the nonsense stops too, but fear it will get worse. As soon as Qld opens and the case numbers start going up the doona dwellers will start howling in Qld too. And of course reciprocal hotspots.

The greatest concern is in regards to Christmas. At the rate we are going half the state will be in forced quarantine by then
QLD will end up the same, their people won’t want to give up their relatively free life right on the stroke of Christmas.
Something has to give and hopefully our state governments see this

Just received my SA Covid test results. Tested 3.30 pm, results 7.11 am next day. Considering how busy they were, that's good going.
It wasn't an issue for me as I didn't have to isolate but if I had flown in from NSW and got tested in the afternoon, I would only have lost that first evening. Could be a lot worse!

Her tentacles need to be chopped off now because all people who test positive are still being escorted, by undercover police and ambulance, to Toms Court Med Hotel. Just heard one guy whose young toddlers watched as their dad was basically put under arrest (meaning, he was involuntarily but calmly on his part) taken by police in full view of neighbours as though he'd committed some crime, but it was simply to testing positive after a work trip to Melbourne. He had been tested as required but then did an extra test as he developed a mild cough. Disgusting. People's reaction? Im not going to get tested. He is now stuck there for 14 days. He's a business owner.

Maybe SA GOVT using stealth means to reduce border traffic: the EntryCheck SA thing not working for me on Edge, Chrome or Safari.
I got a mySA login last night, which is the first step in the process, but the EntryCheck site just seems to get itself stuck in a loop when trying to login to it. Same problem on all three browsers.

Tough poo. They’ve had ample time to get vaccinated ten times over. Rumours are swirling we may even open up earlier! If that happens I think I’d drop dead of shock but how amazing would that be…

It's a known issue. Call them and make sure you've lodged an issue so don't get 'caught' by it later on.

I did a test at the Vic Park drive through at around 9.30pm last night and had a negative result around 8.30 this morning. I thought that was pretty good

Mark slapped it down though, and it sounds like we will get a border announcement this week. I think it's probably 50/50 mid or late January. Mid Jan argument being it lets people do some last minute visits during school hols; late Jan being it gives parents a chance to get their school aged children in with a first dose before the borders open.

So if you arrive on a holiday trip what does the SA government expect you to do while waiting for a test, pick up a hire car Ok or not, check into a hotel without any human contact, sit at the airport for the night. I really think no one who is coming for a short break holiday is going to be bothered with all this mucking around. The health check app asks for 14 days reporting , so even after long gone from SA they want a report, another deterrent. Will people actually keep reporting, I doubt it.

Presumably it's about blame. If the CHO fronts, then he/she is the fall guy, whilst a Premier might be taken to task by the electorate. Not that that won't happen anyway.

Quite likely..... but the CHI would barely rate as the proverbial back end of a public speaker. The deputy tends to speak well. But realistically any other public pheasant servant would have sufficed.

My experience on arriving back last Friday, there is inconsistent information e.g. As part of the Entry check SA process the approval email stated "Fully vaccinated returning South Australian residents who have been out of the state for 72 hours or less are not required to test prior to arrival."
I had only been out of the state for about 28 hours and was asked to show my PCR test results I pointed out the line in the email however the person I was showing all my information to was not interested and wanted to see PCR test results. As information on the SA health website is inconsistent I had myself tested on the Wednesday prior to leaving so had the negative SMS results, I only did this as I had little faith in what would actually happen on arrival. Once in the terminal you are just free to go and to your point there would be nothing stopping a visitor getting into a cab, hiring a car, going to a hotel etc. If you were an interstate visitor and left within the 14 day period I wonder what they could/ would do if you stopped with the daily check in procedure.

Once in the terminal you are just free to go and to your point there would be nothing stopping a visitor getting into a cab, hiring a car, going to a hotel etc. If you were an interstate visitor and left within the 14 day period I wonder what they could/ would do if you stopped with the daily check in procedure.

Does every passenger get screened/interviewed/interrogated as they get off the plane before being released into the terminal?
