Instead of taking the risk, if a close contact then taking your suggestion to breach a public health order while encouraging my Sydney staff to do the same how about I just remove that risk, cancel and book a venue in Sydney for the Sydney staff.
Sure I guess you could. You can do whatever you like and whatever sits within your personal risk profile, vaccination status and the vaccination status and health status of those around you.
What I’m observing at work is that that the automatic compliance to the rules has gone out the window now for many reasons as you would expect at this stage of the pandemic.
And personally, when I see dubious, politically influenced decisions about health such as quarantining whole aircrafts of people for two weeks;
- regardless of vaccination status
- regardless of any subsequent test results
- regardless of the PPE status of the pax
- in contradiction to health advice from other CHO’s in this country who have more relevant experience in the field of infectious diseases…
This then drastically undermines my own personal ‘oh ok I’ll automatically follow the rules’ attitude that I had for most of the pandemic…
It’s certainly getting a bit messy now! They just need to turn up the booster campaign (shorten the interval further in my opinion) and keep moving forward with opening up, without so many asterixes everywhere.
