Not popping across to 'Covid ravaged Adelaide'?
Couldn’t risk it didn’t want to step over all the bodies piled up in Rundle Mall, so we flew out Adelaide team into Melbourne instead
Not popping across to 'Covid ravaged Adelaide'?
You’ve verified supply in every single pharmac_ in Australia?
I would say availability depends on your location in Australia.
Did the WA Premier use the word crisis to describe Tas and NT as the reason for closing borders/making medium risk?
But Im goin to go to my 3 locals now and see if I can get one. If Qld introduce RAT from 1 Jan, I could self test for Day 5.
Everyone is just waiting for WHO or powers that be to come out with something stating OMICRON half as severe as DELTA
Heard two interesting stories today.Creates issues for the testing staff who have to ask why a person is getting tested. People will just lie.
And SA too. I got some online through Chemist Warehouse but now they won't ship to SA. Paid $50 for five.I think they're still outlawed in WA!
My experience is no. Even International arrivals (via other state) with "IR" pass not getting any attention on arrival to BNE domestic.Does anyone have intel whether passengers from Melb are being screened on arrival at Brisbane airport?
especially when rules they produce is so freaking that following them feels impossible. There’s simply too many people for them to be enforceable. They don’t have integrated smart systems, no link to airlines / other border crossing checks so people who are worrying about trying to abide by these wasteful (at best) rules need not stress so much….

Hoping that this turns out to be true! Next nashy cab in a fortnight I believe.Close to the end of a big day of NatCab and ‘final’ border changes for Xmas/New Year.
Now onto Xmas, Boxing Day Test and Sydney to Hobart
Anyone listening to McGowan on the ABC
He’s going off
I was trying to watch but the ABC YouTube feed kept cutting out and back to their teradek's holding screen. What was he going off about?
I bought mine from Woolies which I may or may not have with me when I head to SA!I don't understand what is up with SA. Reasonable adults will use them as a final check before visiting the elderly etc if asymptomatic given they can't access the free PCR tests in that situation. The unreasonable people probably won't even bothered being tested via PCR.
I have half those symptoms on a normal day.Goneski
"As of Tuesday 21 December, vaccinated people who have arrived into South Australia from Victoria, NSW or ACT are no longer required to have a COVID-19 test upon arrival or on day 6.
They must still receive a negative COVID-19 test result in the 72 hours prior to arrival in SA.
People who have any of the symptoms below, even if mild, should get tested for COVID-19 as soon as symptoms appear:
• fever or chills
• cough
• loss of taste or smell
• sore throat
• tiredness (fatigue)
• runny or blocked nose
• shortness of breath (difficulty breathing)
• nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea
• headache
• muscle or joint pain
• loss of appetite"
MrP has chronic sinusitis - long term thing. Sneezing. Blocked nose. Cough. Thankfully his GP isn't insisting on multiple covid tests before he sees him. CT scan done and ENT booking in early January.I have half those symptoms on a normal day.
You could set up a market stall and flog a few. There is a member here who might be very interested....but hopefully they see this.I bought mine from Woolies which I may or may not have with me when I head to SA!
My test came back negative this morning so I am hoping for a speedy exit from ADL tomorrow arvo. I will report back if the same visa system is being used.
The second situation is ridiculous. There is at least one dedicated Clinpath lab in the city only for preop and pre admission patients. This is common knowledge among SA medicos but not the wider community because these labs should not be burdened with turning away people who don’t fulfil the criteria. My patients who need admission or a procedure normally would do so within 48-72 hours. I’ve sent two patients just this past week at 4 and 4:45 pm for a semi-urgent procedure the next day, pre-admission 7:30. One result came back 10 pm same day and the other early hours of the morning. At least with Clinpath there’s guaranteed turnaround by 8 am. I’ve used this service maybe 8 times since Monday with swabs taken the day prior, and ALL of them had timely results. It doesn’t matter whether they’re private or public, and it’s a free service. Any patient who doesn’t get informed of this service should lay the blame on their doctor.Heard two interesting stories today.
One guy rang up all in a furore. He'd waited for a couple of hours for a test. He was one of those 'worried well'. He had not been anywhere near a hot spot, had no symptoms, and had no contact with anyone. When asked why he was there he said he just wanted to have a test. They turned him away. Duffer.
The opposite. Someone having surgery in next couple of days needed to have a covid clearance test. He was well, no contact, etc etc but had to have a test to have the surgery. He too was refused. What is he supposed to do!
