Australian state border restrictions

Not necessarily as if you claim symptoms you have to iso and if your pinged as a close contact you need to show the ping and iso regardless. So lying doesnt help you travel.
In my case I told the truth that it was for travel and she marked it as urgent, I got the result back the next day. And that was a 120K+ testing day.

Im hopeful that if i get to testing centre (walk in not drive through) 2 hours before they open on Sunday I can be at front of the queue and get results in 48 hours. If i don't have results by check in cut-off for the flight i will have to cancel. As the option to pay for faster test over the xmas weekend isn't there.

Scotty's also just indicated they're working on a national definition for close and casual contacts. This will be helpful.
Well that worked last time. Chairman McG went his own way on things the day after that 'national consensus', and all state leaders eventually dropped that definition over time.

Excluding WA (should really just assume this for everything these days!) I actually think they have more of a shot this time now everyone is in the same basket....

News of QLD’s system collapsing is starting to emerge and should be a big story tomorrow or Friday. I’d say we’ll see some movement on testing by Christmas Day.

WA bleating on about upgrading TAS and NT to medium risk because of the ‘crisis’ in TAS and NT….Yawn - but again terrible news for WA residents doing it tough with the nonsensical border restrictions.

But Im goin to go to my 3 locals now and see if I can get one. If Qld introduce RAT from 1 Jan, I could self test for Day 5.

NT ANNOUNCE that can use RAT self administered test from day 3 onwards to comply with NT testing obligations. If +ve, PCR follow up required.

Yes it is an incredible crisis here in Tasmania with no covid cases in hospital.

I'd think there's a high chance of RAT being introduced in Queensland, possibly even before that (post Boxing Day).

I hope you survive the ‘crisis’ down there 🤞🏼 while I navigate the ‘pandemonium chaos’ of Melbourne and Sydney…
Did the WA Premier use the word crisis to describe Tas and NT as the reason for closing borders/making medium risk?

The part of the WA Premier’s press conference I noticed - just update on border and vaccine booster mandate.

That would be nice but AP was quite specific this morning about it (maybe) starting on 1 Jan and no earlier. The pineapples return 29 Dec so our curse virtually guarantees it, Cheers skip
