Australian state border restrictions

Back on topic; did I read somewhere that Queensland were dropping the pre-test requirement? I'm interested because I have a Brisbane job next week but also need to look at a Newcastle site. I was going to do a quick BNE-NTL return day trip. I'll only be in Newcastle for a few hours so it seems pointless to take a RAT test. Even if I'd been bathing in Newcastle Omicron, the virus still needs some time to get going. The only benefit of the test would be to show I hadn't picked it up in Brisbane

Looking at my recent history, I feel as though I've been to bed with an academic dalek. Delete, delete, delete! To be expected, given OT courier discussion.
On topic, can anyone help with advice re upcoming BNE-NTL-BNE excursion? Do I really need to track down a RAT test for the few hours I'm in Newcastle?

Pffff I absolutely wouldn’t bother. Up to you.

Have you confirmed there is a change? From the Qld website, it looks like RAT pre-entry is still required. If you were to follow the spirit/intent, you need a RAT for every entry. But the wording says in the previous 72 hours, so if you had a RAT anywhere that covered this 72 hours, then it should be OK not to do another RAT in Newcastle

It's probably all a bit academic, but WA will be increasing the NT rating to High Risk tonight.

Extreme next week probably - Do you have the latest WA map of interstate border restrictions?

Is that the last jurisdiction needed for a clean sweep of extreme?

Need to check:

The Penguins (Antarctic Territory and Heard and MacDonald Islands)

The Crabs (Christmas and Cocos Islands)

Norfolk would require a transit, as would Coral Sea islands and the Jervis Bay Territory.

That was my reading of the website, hence the question as I thought I'd read something about a change.
The test thing is plain stupid for those travelling for work. For me, the 72 hours previous to this particular re-entry to Queensland covers Tas, SA, Qld and finally, the problem child, NSW. I arrive 12.35 pm, depart 5.15pm.
Technically, the website states a check taken in the hotspot. Do I pull off the side of the road and do a selfie RAT test with "Welcome to Newcastle" in the background? Alternatively, I could do one in the comfort of my Tasmanian home which would be equally meaningless, but simpler?

Here it is
I go to Westernationals at Motorplex every year, but pretty certain Mark will not let me in early March. Don't want the headache, booked following weekend Round 1 AFL in Melbourne instead.

They will take my NT money.

We require a daily RAT for work so I’m just going to take a photo of that for “proof” before we head to Cairns. I have also seen somewhere that QLD rules also says you can have it within 72hrs of arrival

Thanks,. I think that's what I'll do. I'll be taking an image of a RAT test taken before I enter Queensland to be used after I leave and then re-enter Queensland.
Have I previously mentioned the toll Covid is taking on my tolerance for stupidity?!!

I would ask a different question: do I really need to travel to NTL?

I am new here. I have up an upcoming trip to an a Adelaide in early Feb. With the Omicron situation worsens, will I have ground to cancel my virgin flights if my bookings are the getaway fare types? Any thoughts?

You can change them if you really want to per their fly flexible policy….

Will RAT test now be sufficient for boarding interstate flight?

From SA website:

From 12.01 am 1 January 2022, travellers entering South Australia are no longer required to complete an EntryCheck SA application.
