Even though I was at home throughout this pandemic, I don't think I will ever get over how the country fell apart into bickering states. I never even heard the term "Queenslander" used much except for State of Origin and a type of house. I always identified as an Australian and here was the Aussie passport being virtually worthless. People stranded for months on end, I can't imagine what that was like. AFAIK Americans were Americans, not Caifornians, Texans, Oklahomans, etc. Canadians not British Columbians, Albertans. I can't think of any country that was more divided than Australia.
I don't know if Australia will ever feel like a united country again.
Yes, this was mentioned multiple times during the presser, which was encouraging. Also (unless I misheard) that 2000 people got their first dose of vaccine yesterday. The pub lockout must be having an affectBut remember, opening on Feb 5
And no more second PCR test for international arrivals.Guardian reporting that with the exception of WA, RATs or any other type of test will no longer be required to cross state borders with an announcement from TAS and QLD this week.

Is that a joke , or because McClown wasn’t there ?I heard WA was an active and constructive contributor at Nat Cab today Lots to say on the border opening!

It wasn't a matter of not being "bothered" to attend. Only if an Acting Premier has been in the role for a good deal of time are they allowed to attend. Not when only very short term relief in the role.No one at all from WA bothered to attend. Must have got the time wrong - time difference perhaps? And I guess testing rapidly is illegal in WA still right?
Dan is on holidays and his deputy is also off.Im supposed to go to Melbourne tomorrow but several friends there have messaged me this evening saying there is a a rumour Andrews is about to implement a lockdown tomorrow - anyone else heard anything about this?
I dont want to go if I have to be locked in a hotel room, Id sooner just cancel.
Normal practice is that "acting" means exactly that. What rules are you referring to?It wasn't a matter of not being "bothered" to attend. Only if an Acting Premier has been in the role for a good deal of time are they allowed to attend. Not when only very short term relief in the role.
Elective surgery has been halted again.Im supposed to go to Melbourne tomorrow but several friends there have messaged me this evening saying there is a a rumour Andrews is about to implement a lockdown tomorrow - anyone else heard anything about this?

Hi Independent,Just wondering why WA wasn’t at nashy cab?
-Independent Republic?
Not a bad start. But for me the holy grail is no preflight tests for double or triple jabbed. Omicron is spreading anyways. But the triple vaxxed are very unlikely to clog up the hospitals. .And no more second PCR test for international arrivals.
