... the young generation should be the lambs to the slaughter? we have all made the sacrifices of lockdowns to protect the 60+, <snip>
You think so? Really?
... the young generation should be the lambs to the slaughter? we have all made the sacrifices of lockdowns to protect the 60+, <snip>
Only a (vocal) minority, I would suggest.we have all made the sacrifices of lockdowns to protect the 60+, now they are vaccinated they want to open up?
We have - once the vast majority have had a chance to be vaccinated.
As a "younger" person i completely disagree, I am not yet eligible to get vaccinated, once again the young generation should be the lambs to the slaughter? we have all made the sacrifices of lockdowns to protect the 60+, now they are vaccinated they want to open up?
Covid: Younger adults still at risk of serious organ damage - study
Adults below the age of 50 are almost as likely to suffer from medical complications as the over-50s.www.bbc.com
Just a reminder you can actually access a vaccine via GP
Sadly this is happening with border lockdowns anyway. Cancer patient friend. No, you need to go to Melbourne. No, can’t come here, have to go to Albury. Continue. The hospitals will become overwhelmed and there will be deaths from many other treatable conditions.
Yes, but it shouldn’t be killed by the bureaucracy that seems to accompany it. I don’t actually want to get anything from my GP, but it’s now become a game to see if the phone number they’ve been messaging ever actually answers. Informed consent translates to years of this…Mass vaccination is by far the best way to end the lockdowns and state border closures.
So this morning I received an email from QF to say that my MEL-CFS flight (arranged yesterday) has been cancelled and they have booked me on MEL-SYD-CFS. So instead of a direct SYD-CFS, they are going to throw in a free SYD-MEL return. Would be a good deal in normal times!Today my flight from SYD to CFS on 7 August was cancelled and QF recommended a flight approximately 6 hours later.
I clicked on the link for alternative flights and chose a different itinerary: SYD-MEL-CFS. Why fly direct when you can connect; right?
Oh wait....maybe not such a good idea.....
I have tried.....they do not have enough supply for everyone requesting, the reality of supply to GPs is far different to what the Fed gov say.
This is the reply from my GP:
"Unfortunately, the Government have advised us that our supply from them will be limited . As we have limited numbers of Astra Zeneca Vaccine we will try and prioritise our elderly and at risk patients. If you are over 50 and in group 1a or 1b, please book an appointment online.
Additionally, we now have supplies of the Pfizer Vaccine, which are available for patients aged between 39- 59. Eligible patients must phone to book an appointment for this vaccine
As soon as we have more information to hand regarding when we will receive greater vaccine stocks, we will update our website and Facebook site."
she is too busy packing to go to Japan
You need to get over the hubris. In fact she has little choice. Why is the federal minster going and attending sports event? Why is the federal minister for environment plus staff in Europe to argue against listing of the reef as endangered when it’s been apparent for many years?Well a lot of people don’t think she should be allowed to go…
More than 120,000 Australians have signed a petition calling for Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to be denied the right to travel to Tokyo.
Hint tougher restrictions in store for NSW

Oh I’m not in favour of us having the Olympics, but it’s part of the political cycle and AP won’t be in power when the event happens. But that’s not relevant. The politics of long term planning means she really has little choice. With the economic disaster of recent Olympics both Summer and Winter.
Plus the absolute disaster of Tokyo.. Delayed a year and now no crowds.
Why is Brisbane even pursuing this?
I feel for you @MARTINEI am in Vic. All I know is that I’ve waited two years for a holiday and had a special birthday with family on a luxury remote island north of Cairns leaving tomorrow. Not. A few weeks ago we had no cases and the various ‘football hubs’ all here for weeks accordingly. I’m vaccinated (which means nothing) and our holiday is gone. Sadly I could not follow the football hubs (as only footballers are considered essential workers for travel purposes). I give up.
