I applied with my QF SG card on Nov 2 and got my match to Amigo Gold through last night. Had a mild panic when lounge access wasn't mentioned in the email from Avianca Brazil, but checked the *A website and confirmed it does give me access. Thanks again to everyone for posting and helping me get this across the line, mucho gratio

I got diamond from VFF WP, took about a month. Some flights in Europe coming up so hopefully will come in handy. Very helpful advice in this thread, thanks all!

Posting from the SQ lounge in MNL. It was a bit harder getting in here - my 06 number was registered on my boarding pass but they asked for my Gold card. After a while I produced the status match letter and a Web printout, which convinced them to let me in, according to their team leader.

Thanks for the dinner O6 but need to be wary it might not all be smooth sailing without a card.

Posting from the SQ lounge in MNL. It was a bit harder getting in here - my 06 number was registered on my boarding pass but they asked for my Gold card. After a while I produced the status match letter and a Web printout, which convinced them to let me in, according to their team leader.

Thanks for the report exceladdict. Good to hear. Hoping the temporary card is enough for me too at a few SK lounges in a couple of weeks.

Was a straight up black-and-white print out from the website enough? Or did you print the welcome email too?

I had a wad of paper with a screenshot of the Web page with the card on it, the card print page (which shows the numbers incorrectly), and my status match confirmation email. All in colour.

They didn't bite originally when I said I just hadn't been sent my card yet.

Either I was lucky or you are unlucky. I applied about 3 days before my QF SG was due to expire at the end of October and got matched with confirmtion coming last week. Perhaps they have tightened up on applications since then.

Thank God for Google translate!! I emailed them explaining I was just awaiting the delivery of my new QF WP card that is valid until end of Nov 2016. Received an email this morning advising I have been upgraded to Amigo Diamond, Star Alliance GOLD valid 31/03/2017. Finally, common sense prevails.

I have made my bookings and their is no where in Brussels airlines manage my bookings to add a frequent flyer number so would like to get a decent hard copy

I thought that was a bit dodgy too! Ended up taking a screenshot and then printing it separately. It's not great. Honestly it'll be a miracle if SK let me into their lounges in a couple of weeks.

I printed off the temporary card and used it when I recently flew with Thai. It got me all the privileges, from priority check-in, to lounge use without question. You're right though, it is a bit tricky to print off the card with all the info intact. I took a photo of the screen and then sized and printed the card off on photo paper.

That's what I did too.

I sent an e-mail (in Portuguese) a few weeks ago, with a follow-up last week, asking if a card would be sent out. No reply.

I just said I have gold status with Avianca and showed them the temporary card. They looked something up so I presume there is some reference to individual memberships on the Star Alliance system. Nothing was questioned. But if it was I'd just say "I have just reached this status and they told me to print off and use this temporary card". I wouldn't preface anything with the "dodgy" bit!
