Hi patmcrotch I tried heaps of dates and could not find 2 x seats. Syd -Bkk easy heaps of F but only 1 from there to kix. We did a coin toss to see who gets to fly F. This way with 1 of us flying F at least we will both be able to use the F lounge

BRU - SYD in J x 2 with ANA. All done on line! Confirmed and ticketed almost immediately. 170,000 miles + US$198. 6hr 40 stopover in Tokyo with xfer from NRT to HND. BRU - NRT in 788 and HND - SYD in 789. We hate SYD but as it's our first time on a 787 we're prepared to endure it. This is OCT 2016, but there does appear to be fairly good availability between SYD & Europe via Japan.

So you are the one that took the seats on 11-12 Oct!

I realise the cost but seems cheap still.

I refunded 40k miles to my account this week hence the questions...

I ended up taking TG475 the night time BKK-SYD flight in J on 5th Nov.

I took seat 14k on the upper deck, Not bad for a first full service J experience. The seat was comfortable enough..the food was decent enough and the lounge was a bit worn but 100x better than sitting at the gate with 400 others.

Big thanks to AFF! Youve opened my eyes well and truly!

First miles booking with Lifemiles, bought some in the big sale earlier in the year and used them for our last leg of the honeymoon!

Wow! Thanks for the tip! Gotta grab it before it's all gone or before SQ shut it down!

Wow! Thanks for the tip! Gotta grab it before it's all gone or before SQ shut it down!

I thought the same so I jumped on it.

here's a link to an article about the new route.

Be sure to add on an Australian add on.....J to Europe one way for 85k!

It's not gonna be easy. SQ flights from AUS is very hard to find. You will need 3 screenshots (Aus-BKK, then BKK to SIN then SIN-DUS) to make it happen. Would love to hear people's success story if that works.

How? Please enlighten me!

I think MEL-SIN is bookable with SQ (screenshot method)...but only the very late departure, which would get you in to SIN about 18 hours before your DUS departure and would therefore more than likely be denied as a connection by LM.
