re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Like I said before:

I never claimed any method will allow you to book mixed class awards on LM. It's been stated numerous times that what is available on the LM website is what can be booked. I never claimed any different.

My post was about why I recommend united.com to search for availability and those reasons are quite clear, e.g:

needing to search for awards where there is mixed availability(yes these will need to be booked as two different awards),

the ability to search without actually logging into the website, (LM logs you out after some period of inactivity)

ability to do multiple searches quickly without CAPTCHA's interrupting you,

ability to do flexible searches (over months rather than the single week that LM will show you).
Now all is clear.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Hi everyone, have just recently joined with the view to buying and redeeming miles. Have read all the rules about long lay overs etc, and pretty ok with all of that because mostly I will be doing one way awards. I would be interested to know current experiences on aviability for redeeming one way from either BKK or SIN on TG/SQ in first and business class. Thanks

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

I've done a fair bit of looking recently for travel in July/August, based from Perth. I've found good availability in business on SQ from SIN, and also good availability on TG from BKK, both from and to Europe. Good availability and to and from Aus as well. However, LM will not connect them together (they will with economy but not business) so they must be booked as separate reward redemptions. SQ releases business from Australia to Europe via SIN up to 14 days from travel, but availability is a big gamble.

I've never seen first available.

The J connections start to work at T-14. This was the case even before the 14 day limit on SIN<>Aus redemptions came in.

I am reading this right - SQ will only open up J redemption 14 days before for SIN - Aus flights? Thanks

is there a "good" time to call Avianca to deal with the Thai fun and games aka "operational events department"? been bounced around thai and avianca via email and finally got to the point of being told to call Avianca.

waited 70 mins on hold to their USA call centre number found here - Call Center | Avianca with no luck.

TG it is then!! fly between SIN and BKK regualrly so I can plan things - but I have to say OW awards do seem easier to redeem

What do you mean OW seem easier to redeem? One Way? or One World? with another program? It is annoying that SQ brought in the 14 day restriction (even though they won't admit it!) as availability was always pretty good between Australia and Singapore on SQ on all plane types and classes (I know some people have even picked up the odd suites seat previously).

I have called the 1800400222 number on Skype as early as 6pm , took 33 minutes in total .

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Which regional destinations have the best SQ F availability ?
I was hoping SIN-HKG but had a look and it doesn't seem a goer.

Cheers. Appreciate any thoughts/comments.

Going from NRT to LAX, ORD and MIA (to go to the Caribbean) and back to NRT again.

Which two cities to use as the US gateways is the question.

NRT-LAX in SQ J is appealing, NRT-ZRH-MIA in Swiss J with an 18hr stopover is long but interesting too and/or something involving ORD..decisions, decisions.

Heaps of availability but the BKK connect time is >8hrs so unfortunately LM doesn't like it :(

This a new rule? Or they changed their flight times?

Managed to fly TG per-bkk-fra-lhr last year.

If new rules means no more LM to Europe from per?

Any bookings with LM must have all connections less than 8 hours, otherwise they have to split into two separate bookings.

no wonder it doesnt work with PER anymore. TG seem to have cancelled their afternoon flight, landing late night bkk time, just in time for their europe connections.
