re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Yes we have ticket numbers on each of our names. When I login to SQ app on mobile app it says, kindly contact Singapore Airlines to make changes to this flight. Very annoying.

Forgive me if you are already aware, but the 6-character reservation number you were given on your booking confirmation, eg HS3D9W, is not the same thing as the e-ticket number, which will be something like 202 - 12345678.

The e-ticket number can be found on the second email that LifeMiles sends out a couple of days later, in a document that looks like it came out of an old fashioned dot-matrix printer. On CheckMyTrip.com this number can be found by expanding the tab with your name on it.

You always get the first reference number (eg HS3D9W) immediately, but this is just a reservation reference (known as a PNR) and not the actual ticket. The ticket (eg 202 - 12345678) will be issued soon after, somewhere between straight away and a few days later. Until you have the actual ticket issued, the booking is not fully complete. Once you have the ticket issued, you'll be able to choose your seats directly with the airline.

Or sometimes (just channeling another forum member) the ticket number does not issue and you have a serious problem!!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

I've received that email from lifemiles confirming the booking immediately after nookong. Looks like a receipt. Is that the one?
I got two emails from them both kind of look like receipts
The first had "Lifemiles award ticket redemption" as subject line sent from Lifemiles. And a second one sent by Amadeus which has my name , date of flight and route as subject line. And it also has a checkmytrip link at the end of it
After the second later email I was able to assign seat on SQ site. There was a gap of a few hours between the emails.

According to posts on FT there have been some very long delays in ticketing recently...well in excess of the time that it generally becomes dangerous (72 hours).

Yeah there is definitely a ticket number on checkmytrip

Whats it start with (first three numbers)

202 are the first three numbers for our tickets

All sorted! Can pick a seat and pick our meal!! I assume we get lounge access in Singapore? Anyone know which one is best that we're allowed in?

you have access to the Silver Kris Business Class lounge. They're allpretty much same same, but the T3 one is the newest.

It's at the top of the escalators, to the right.

You do not want the Star Gold lounge, which is for economy pax with star gold status.

If you are in J then the SilverKris lounge in T3(?) would probably be the pick.

Edit: MEL_Traveller beat me to it!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Lifemiles takes a leaf out of QF's play book, and "enhances" mASAs.

I received the email yesterday :( "no more points earn on All Seats Awards" (from bookings made after July 3rd, so at least some forward warning which is nice). Having flown TACA on an mASA, I must say that it worked out as particularly good value... but it is even sadder to see them completely remove points earn on all ASAs!

So beware fellow lifemilers...AV have well and truely started down the path of "enhanced" frequent flyer benefits (but refreshingly, at least, communicating it in plain English, without any QFstyle simplerspin)

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

erm, where do you get a ticket number from?

i can bring up the ticket on avianca using the amadeus. can select seats and BTC using Thai, but can't find a ticket #.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

I'd just forward lifemiles your purchase confirmation (would have come from them as an email) tell them the actual e-ticket didn't seem to come through and ask them to re-email you the e-ticket (which will have the ticket number on it). I have done this before and they've emailed me the e-ticket pretty quickly (within a day I think).

No need to do what Flippant has recommended. Just use check my trip. Bring your booking up and click on your name. If it is issued it should show your e-ticket number.

Can anyone shed some light on the destinations that are actually in Oceania? Not looking for anything miscoded.....just whether there are interesting routings like GUM for USDM.

Thanks!

:)

Pretty much take a map of the Pacific Ocean and look for small islands, take out Hawaii and Easter Island and that's Oceania!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Well I tried manually changing the departure time to 2110 and it did give me different options, I think including the one you listed on some days but not Jun 8. It did offer various options though that weren't shown without specifying the exact departure time.
How do you manually change departure time? I see four time options in the drop down, and the website does not let me manually change the time.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Planning a RTW trip eastwards with the missus. When headed back to Aus via Asia, I'm considering NH F Suite vs OZ F Suite from the US (ORD or JFK). With soft and hard product in consideration which is better?

Edit: is SQ F generally out of the question? (I've only seen SIN-DEL)

I say NH F available the other day on the JFK-NRT route, but was gone the next day when I tried to ticket. So grab the NH or OZ F when you see it, don't wait too long. You can always cancel for the $50 fee later on.

By the way, someone on FT reported he did redeem F on SQ 26, but not sure if he was just kidding or not.

You need to use your browser developer tools, e.g. Firebug in Firefox, to change the values behind the dropdown list.

Actually neglected to say here that GUM itself is interesting for Avianca in that it is NOT in Oceania (Saipan probably the same).
