re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

anyone signed up for the inside flyer 150% LM promo?
there's been a bit of issue with the promo i think - emails going around about things getting "sorted" but until now still no news from lifemiles and no instructions on how to buy miles

I signed up but I haven't received the link from Inside Flyer to purchase.

On top of that I haven't found availability on any flights of interest so I'm disinclined to purchase at the moment.

i don't have any flights in mind either - and have sorted out flights next year already (including ADL-CTS then back from HND with screenshots - partner: "why are we going japan again???". me: "we better go before this screenshot thing stops working or when lifemiles decides to change their award chart so it doesn't cost 40k to get to japan from adelaide" partner: ".............")

passed at 135%, 145% but now at 150% i might just buy some to hoard.

i got the email from inside flyer yesterday saying they have sorted it out with LM but until now still no payment instructions

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

If you've signed up for the 150% bonus, Lifemiles will send an email to you to confirm this. I got mine yesterday. Once logged on to your LM account, it should allow you to buy with the 150% bonus.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I got my email for the 150% bonus Yesterday also.
Still deciding whether or not to buy though.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

$A is improving against the $US. I took the plunge and bought in.
I'm actually looking at 2 F TG tix for SYD-BKK on a Sat 20th Feb 2016. Seems no availability (been checking over the last 2-3 weeks). Should I take the plunge and buy 2J tix now (they're available) or keep checking for 2F to open. Not flown on TG award before so not sure how to play it out. Help please...

Thx for looking that up for me RB. It has to be 20th as I'm travelling with friends.

I would book seats on Business Class for that flight incase the F seats don't become avaliable. You can then cancel the Bus seats if the F comes up. It is only a $50 cancellation fee

Good point. I was thinking of that strategy. Thx WLM.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I also received the 150% email from Lifemiles yesterday.
Now to decide whether to buy or not.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

The biggest problem with the 150% promo is the need to buy at least 100K miles. It will be very hard to burn.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Next year I am all booked in to do the Rickshaw Run The What? — The Adventurists - an epic run from the top to the bottom of india in a rickshaw/tuk tuk.

Getting there from PER is sorted by a cheap scoot biz to SIN, then SQ Suites to DEL.

I was hoping to get back burning some lifemiles - however after a number of hours searching I feel like I am just chasing my tail!

Has anyone seen, or can anyone suggest, an interesting redemption from India to Perth/Australia (Ideally southern India)? The only one I could find via the search engine within my dates which is 23-26 August 2016 is DEL-BKKx-PER. First leg on AI and second on TG in J which isn't that exciting

At one stage I was looking at flying to NRT in J on ANA from DEL. Then trying for a screenshot KIX-BKK-SYD in TG F, then a domestic J flight back to Perth. But then I decided I was being silly.

Not silly at all. If you enjoy flying and have the time to complete this route then why not ;)

Do BR, OZ or NH fly anywhere in India? You could go from india to north asia to bkk to perth? Alternatively do AI fly to ICN, TPE or TYO?

If you are already contemplating having to do a domestic SYD-PER to get home, remember there is plenty of J availability DEL-SYD on AI dreamliner

For business class I would go with the non-stop DEL-SYD rather than connecting via various asian ports. Unless you can score DEL-SIN-PER on SQ (much easier).

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

You could also go DEL-BKK-TPE-BNE? though BR is limited to twice a week tpe-bne
