re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

It doesn't relate to the latest glitch. But I spoke to LM last night on phone to reset my account password.

They couldn't help me at all. I tried resetting through the website, I never get the email. I even emailed and tweeted them... nothing! I've got 50k miles I would like to use!

Sometimes LM can great but sometimes they also really grind my gears!!

How about screen shooting the itinerary you need (just create a new account in your dog's name to search for availability) explaining to them you can't do it online now? That way you don't need password and you don't lose the award seat because you can't log in.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

That was never blocked. You can transfer in N Asia online but need screenshot for transfer in SE Asia

It hadn't been bookable for me for a while.

Also some nice Canada opportunities at the moment.

Honestly I just want to transfer some miles :)

I read Facebook is the best way to get their attention...might be worth a shot.

Probably to fix the ridiculous "J at F prices" glitch.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I did see a mixed booking J and F at ' J' price. I didnt go with it because I couldnt get the date I wanted.

Care to share? I've never seen that before.

So on the ongoing saga of trying to get my password reset.

I have been communicating with their team via Twitter as the call centre is useless. Instead of asking me for all the identity information up front it's taken 5 messages and 5 days to get there.

Can't say I've been impressed and feel I should just burn my 40k miles and get rid of them!

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

After just returning from family holiday to Europe for 4 weeks and at last minute (ie 24 hours beforehand) having to cancel my TK tickets (booked on LM) and rebook with other airlines... The curse is still following me. I see tonight that TG has changed their PER - BKK flight timings for certain days of the week, so my Dec flight with family on TG Per - Bkk - Hkg on a Friday no longer connects as TG as it now leaves at 4.30pm from Perth instead of original 9.15am (some other days changed as well). Gotta luv TG...Anyway I see I don't have e tickets for these new flights now and they also don't connect. Do I call LM or TG to sort this out and from experience how does it work? Thanks!!!

I'd call TG at first instance - they have Australian offices and will have the most accurate information on what alternative arrangements they are making/have made for passengers misconnecting on the new flights - they may have already held seats on another flight. TG may then refer you to LM to reticket (or not), but at least you'll know what your options are before calling.

Gday

Whilst the maintenance of the website over the past few weeks has stuffed up a few things like J for F prices etc, the availability of long haul SQ J for departures within ~T-10 days is a welcome change.

Pele.

Very interesting - did not realise this - just checked SYD-SIN this coming week and business class show available albeit as "first" - not looking to book ATM but I guess a call or e-mail to support would secure this at correct miles.

Good find.

Who knows what's happening with LM. UA is looking pretty good ATM asian destinations.

Thanks for the advice.
Called TG but apparently they will not touch LM issued tickets. But got onto LM last night and had a great operator who rebooked and reticketed six bookings within 15 minutes...must be a LM record! Happy chappy now.
The TG changes for the PER-BKK leg may please some now though as later departure means screenshot method to connect to Europe flights will work.
As I make it, it appears TG departure from PER of 9.15am remains for Tues, Thurs, Sat whilst other days now have a 4.30pm departure. Correspondingly the BKK-PER legs line up with those so 11.55pm departure for Mon, Wed and Fri and 7.20am departure from BKK on other days.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I'm so frustrated with LM. I've been trying for hours to book SYD-YVR-xx_-YYZ which shows as available - when I select the flights and click "continue" I get a dialogue box warning me that there are 2 or more connections so I accept this. Then after a long pause I get an error screen. I've sent screen shots to LM support - hopefully they can book this manually as I really need this booking confirmed in the next 48 hours.

Update - LM created reservation overnight in response to my e-mail and asked me to call to pay taxes. Great support for dodgy website - why can't they fix these bugs.

I'm not sure that it's ever been possible to book flights with more than one connection in a single booking.
