Bit the bullet and finally applied. Was surprised how low level they went with expenses and current credit cards, I guess this is the brand new world nowadays.

Anyway, they offered me 35K which I reduced to 15K and conditionally approved, subject to:

1. Producing last two payslips - (done)
2. Apparently will be called by a staff member to discuss

Let the fun and games begin

Approved today. 6 business days from application to approval. Not too bad but not the quickest.

I got rejected online, unsure why

edit: it must be because I forgot to half my mortgage repayments..

I called up and no-one will help me, they said its up to me whether I want to submit my application again but can't comment on what might happen. Should I submit an application next month then?

Apparently there is a 6 day backlog. I rang to check yesterday after getting an (auto) email requesting documents that have already been provided.

If you get rejected & have access to a physical branch my advice would be try there, I found them a lot more helpful than the phone service. I think there are still a few in the Eastern States if not from WA.

Thanks mate, I'll give them a visit tomorrow.

I have now had two reminder emails for documents that have already been provided. Applied Monday morning.

Currently been on hold 25 minutes to clarify the problem. I assume it is the same issue others above have experienced.

Extremely unimpressed with Bankwest so far.

Yes. They kept telling me it was a problem with their system and to ignore them. I asked them how I know if they ever send me a real enquiry. Terrible.

It's been two statement cycles and in the second, the annual fee. First statement was for $0. I've got some spend on the second statement. Any idea when the daily QF points spend gets debited to my account for the daily spend? Worried that they don't have my QF. And yes, I did provide it.

I’m guessing after two full months, so next statement. Both me and my OH are in the same boat, second statement and points accrued but not transferred to QF yet.

Minimum spend has been hit too, but the bonus points haven’t posted yet, so I’m guessing their five month window is going to be closer to actual than worst case.

Great thanks for sharing your circumstances. Got bit worried for a second.

Is it better to half the mortgage amount? I figure that they'd see it in the bank statement anyway so I wouldn't be able to get away with reporting any less than what I pay.

Interesting to hear a couple of people here applying for 2 cards at the same time. Are there more of you who do this with success? Thanks in advance

I halve all household bills not solely related to me (such as my phone, car expenses, etc.), as they ask what my expenses were. On the same thread, I didn't include my OH's income with mine, if that makes sense (the latter is obvious, of course, but really it's no different to the former). Obviously if you pay 100% of the mortgage yourself, you can't do that, but in my case it's a joint mortgage, from a joint account, with both incomes credited to it.

We also both took out the card, I applied a few weeks later because I was planning to hold off due to an earlier application elsewhere (but I got impatient). No difference in outcome for either, I had one extra hurdle in that I had to provide a copy of my passport, which I found strange in that we'd both been customers before, but I was the only one with an active account (QF transaction).

Thank you for explaining!
