Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Update for this one:
i have not physically received the card yet. However, when I log in online and go to the self service > activate cards section I have a new standard account card sitting in there waiting to be activated. Completely new card number. So I suspect when I receive the new card I will be able to make 50 transaction per day on the original standard card, platinum card AND new standard card received when downgrading back to standard account. 150 transactions per day coming up!

Update for those interested:
I received my new standard BW QF debit mastercard today and just activated it. Not in front of a computer so haven't been able to program a macro for this yet however I used it successfully to make a 1c payment at woolies (after already making 50 on my original standard card and 50 on my platinum card today. I will do the macro tonight and try to make another 49 payments on this new card but I think it's safe to say I will now have 3 cards in play and 150 transactions per day going through my account.

Anyone thinking of downgrading from platinum back to standard I think can do it. So as not to arouse any suspicion as to why I was downgrading less than a month after upgrading I told them I decided to pay more off my home loan so didnt have the cashflow to deposit $4k per month.

If someone is able to PM me with idiot proof macro instructions for telstra accounts, it would be much appreciated!

I just got a "Congratulations you’ve been awarded 10,000 bonus Qantas Points!" email.

Almost a week after a statement that said the same thing

I have to say that this has been one roller coaster of a thread to read! So much information, so many times I jumped the fence on certain debates, and held back from joining in.

However, now that I have just found out it its a 3 DAY transfer for Pay Anybody (me)! I'm starting to get on the WORK IT train ride some of you guys are on. This bank is ridiculous, it's set up is ridiculous, it's website is ridiculous, 2 weeks waiting for my card, RIDICULOUS! However the lady on the phone was very nice.

I can confirm that Pay Anybody is the next business day, and sometimes the same day. I have been using a Bankwest transaction account for 3 years. Any payment made in business hours is in the recipient's account the next day at the latest, and the same for inbound payments made from another financial institution to Bankwest.

I can confirm this too; however the transaction must be initiated by 3pm WST on a "business day" IIRC.

Pay Anyone ... + 1

thought I'd 'waist some time' in Coles this morning ...

Not sure if this is 'known' or not, but you can only make fifty ( 50 ) transactions with the BW card ( or is it any credit / debit card ? )

The staff are a bit of a problem. The terminal keeps 'calling out' the same messages, so the staff come over to see if they can 'help'.

THEN, they stick around, to see what you are up to ...

( Did a combination of 1, 4 & 5 cent tranactions for a 99 cent item )

To be fair, thats the definition of help for many customer "service" types in retail stores, to hang around offering "assistance" even if its totally clear you dont want any.

Hmmmm, well maybe it's because it's my first transfer, not sure? 2 business days have passed now. However, I will trust your 3 years experience and patiently wait.

I did a transfer late last night and it had come through by this morning. Sometimes the first transfer can be slower....you can always call and ask.

I did a transfer to Amex last month and at the same time also did one from CBA to Amex. The Bankwest transfer was their next day and the CBA one required a few days to arrive.

Weird.

I know you can't earn QFF points on 'gambling products' ...

But I've found, I can't do a transfer to my online OZ LOTTO account.

Why is this ???
