Best seats economy A380?

Hi Guys, I've trawled the thread - Thanks for the vast information.

I have the choice between 48A & 32A (48A allocated now) for a SYD - LA trip. My concern is restricted leg room. Should I stay, or move to 32A?

It looks like I'll have someone in 48B, but 32B is free and I may be able to keep a shadow as WP.

I'm under 6" too, just :)
Thanks Guys!

Cheers,
Rob

32A with a shadow is a great seat choice, especially as the armrest lifts up on the outside combos (not the middle of the row).

JJust wanted to say thanks to the thread. Yesterday I flew LHR-DXB in 80A. As a bonus 80B was free. It was one of the best flights I've had in economy short of having 5 seats to sleep across the day before on AA. Just about to do DXB - MEL in 71D.

Thanks again for the advice!

Flying in Jan 2015 to LAX & return with the family (wife & two daughters 16 and 12) Wife and youngest are shorties, eldest daughter is 175cm. I'm 6'. As a WP I have pretty much my choice of seats in Y at this stage and both flights are overnighters. I am most likely going to upgrade us all to J on the SYD-LAX leg. On the way back I originally had us booked in 32D-G but am thinking of paying for 35 J for myself and moving the girls to row 34E-G.

I can also book row 71 and take 71D or 80A or 66A etc.

Thoughts?

32D-G has fixed armrests, not great. I would go for two pairs of window aisle combos, given the side storage.

Both 71D or 80A should do you. I have sat in both and they are brilliant for stretching out. I personally preferred 80A as you got the leg room, a window but with access to the seat from the area in front of row 79 (I usually hate window seats for accessibility reasons but this was great). 71D potentially had more dramatic leg room but it didn't seem, as cozy. Passenger in 70E wanted to use my seat pocket and you had to get out of the seat to get stuff out of it was the only, very minor, issue.

I'd go 80A but 71D was pretty damn decent too.

I have just got back from a UK run - I really liked 80A

I have 32k mel-dxb and return in May, my first time on the a380 :D

Good seat

80A/K or 71D not available ???

They are more suitable for single pax as you don't have to climb over your seat mate to get out.

But we did enjoy 32JK - as a couple.

This may be a silly Question, however Just booked flights for Feb 2015 and its saying that all the upper deck is unavailable with only 36F available.. Now I just want 33A and B.. Would I be right in saying they are being held until a later date?? Or is there anyway other way I can get those seats if they are just being held for later?? Oh sorry and all of 35 is available..

Hi first of all what is your status?

Secondly AVOID ROW 36 at all cost I have just flown in 36D which has a partition along the side of the seat thus preventing isle access also seat 36F has the IFE box and a such only half the area under the seat is available and no foot rest available.

The seats are generally blocked for status PAX. They may free up closer to the flight if not too full. Not sure if you can get the exit row for a fee?

I have done some checks on a few flights up to tmw.. and it doesn't look like they ever unblock them.. I'm just a low bronze, so nothing in the scheme of things.. I can get the exit row, but I don't want it.

All of those seats are blocked out/taken.

I was in 80A next week, but had to bring my flight forward, so for tomorrows flight I've gone upstairs to 33A.

I may however get some Qantas love, won't be holding my breath though, (said very much tongue in cheek!).

Haven't seen any discussions re 51J/K in this thread. Any thoughts on these as I have them currently? At the moment I see a shadow in 51H (Blocked out on EF) on QF2 but there is 32D-G available. I am 6'2" and Mrs Colster is 5'2".. Thoughts?

33A has the same leg room as any other seats other than Emergency exit Rows and or rows 32 and 66 and then of course 80A/K and 71D

Has anyone had 32A with a shadow-stealer in 32B? And how did it go with getting out?

I've had 32A once but had a shadow so it was wonderful.

Tossing up between 35K and 66A for the next flight now that I have P1 and no exit fees..??

More importantly, the photos indicate on opened side storage hatch for 33A... ;)
