Best seats economy A380?

what status are you ... that can vary what seats may be avalable for pre-selection.

Have 66F/G secured for myself and a companion on QF93 coming up in a few weeks.

Expert flyer showing 66D/E occupied for obvious reasons

Now from personal experience/wealth of knowledge on these forums would it be better to keep these seats or move up and secure say 53H/K with an empty seat between us for the 'roomier' option ?

The issue for me with those seats 66 F/G is the door to the crew rest area is located on the side and is used often through out the flight and can lead to noise and light pollution as they open to enter and leave the rest area that is located immediately below.

Hi, I have travelled in seat 66E and the space was more than sufficient. I took along a cabin sized suitcase and used this as a footrest, this made the seat very comfortable. I found no other passengers trying to pass through this area. I only found disturbance (very limited) from the cabin crew going through the door to their rest area which is located at the side of the bulkhead wall at seat 66G. Unless you can get a seat in the upper deck area do not hesitate to sit at 66D in my opinion.

Are you able to confirm that this pic is indeed seats 66DEFG? I didn't think they had quite this much leg room!

A bit distorted by the camera lens but it indeed looks like row 66 ...

... legroom is very good .. in fact it is only relatively recently that non CL could pre select them before check-i.

Hi catr13, As serfty has said the picture is a bit distorted by the lens so not quite as much room as the photo appears but indeed looks like row 66. In a slouched sitting position with your legs stretched out you would be able to touch the bulkhead as a guide for actual space (I'm just under 6"). As another member has stated you could place a pillow in the magazine holder and rest your feet on this.

Be prepared for an ear bashing by the FA most dont like or allow this to happen as they are concerned about breaking the magazine holder

Mr and mrs booked A and C. Both WP,one booking and we still had a companion in B. Seat selector be warned.

32D (with 32E currently vacant)
66G (with 66F currently vacant)
66H (with 66J currently vacant)
79H or 79J

80A, 80K, 71D and all other decent upper deck seats are all taken.

Take 32D 66G is nice for leg room however as it is the entry to the crew rest area the light pollution and noise as they enter and leave can be annoying.

Any thoughts on the economy seats on the upper deck? Not sure of the row number, but one from the very rear sounds appealing. Mini cabin (I assume) and exit row.

Seat guru doesn't show these as economy, but the QF seating map does. Any reason this section should be avoided?

Also, does one board through the upper deck, or being economy does one get the pleasure of walking all the way to the back downstairs and then up the stairs (ie be probably the very last to disembark)?

36 J & K at the back. Had these in August to LAX, bit of a gap to the window and adjacent to the galley but really wasn't an issue. Is a much quieter part of the plane and you can walk up and down the steps as much as you like.

I'm currently in 80k for Mel - LAX on Friday but 33 A/B and J/K now available. Is the leg room of 80K better than the small upstairs cabin with less leg room but full recline of row 33?

I would highly suggest stay with 80K you still get full recline in 80K plus no one to recline into you plus excellent leg room plus access in and out of the seat with no need to disturb any one plus the side wall to lean against and sleep. Only down fall is slightly narrower seat and the IFE screen being stowed during take off and landing.

What were your impressions of seats 36J and K? Did people find they were constantly disturbed by people in the galley, and did the wall behind restrict the recline?

They were great seats, you can still recline, bit of a gap between the seat and the window however I stored my carry on there. Great when there are only two of you, you know who you are climbing over.
