We can’t get our Medicare numbers to link with My Gov, tried multiple times and keep getting the same error message. Different devices - all the same. Services Australia not taking phone calls today. Wonder if it is other QFF members trying to do same 🤔🤔😂😂

I tried on the app on my iPhone this morning and it wasn't showing but it was showing this afternoon. My name on the digital certificate has my full first name and middle initial all in capitals while my full name is on my QFF profile. I requested 1000 points and it was accepted by QF.

Had the same issues with it failing about 3-4 times, claiming name mismatch.
It only works if the PDF is saved in the 'Downloads' or 'Files' section of the device (I use Android).
If trying to load from any cloud service (Google Drive, for example), it does not work. I even had offline version saved for Drive, with no success. Once I transferred to 'Downloads' folder, it worked in an instant.
Hope this helps! :)
And let us get past 80% soon together!
Stay cheerful everyone!
Had the same issue. Saved to Google Drive and was failing.
Needed to download from Drive to device then upload and worked straight away.

Thank you!

We can’t get our Medicare numbers to link with My Gov
Basically they need more ID - such as a passport number or drivers license number.
Ring medicare - goes through tho services australia. Say you cant link medicare to mygov. They ask for DL or passport number. They check it
Then they give you the linking code

Go through the mygov link medicare process but use linking code
You will need to enter the linking code. the "access reference number" is medicare number plus the reference number (no spaces) for you on the card - 1,2,3,4 (the number in front of your name)

Zero issues for me, even though QF has my full middle name and medicare only has a middle initial.

At first I couldn't get it to work, but after updating my Qantas app it came up and worked straight away. Took the low 1,000 points as I have a flight later in the year that'll keep my status until 2023. Although I can't find the certificate in the Qantas app - maybe it's only for this promo at the moment.

This is a ridiculously cynical exercise from Qantas, though not unexpected of course. The three so-called offers are all worth effectively nothing and will cost Qantas the same, which is of course why they're happy to give them away for hopefully some free positive publicity.

1,000 QFF points is worth at best $10, which will be easily offset by quietly increased prices and points devaluations in their various redemption stores. There's no chance of actually using these points to redeem a flight of course because they'll make sure there are no QFF seats on whatever flight you try to book.

$20 flight voucher is similarly worthless in an environment where you can't actually fly anywhere and again easily offset by quiet flight price increases to claw back the $20 again. If it was a genuine $20 in cash transferred into your bank account, then this would be the one to get, but of course that's never gonna happen.

On the face of it, the 15SC are the only 'reward' worth anything until you find out the 15SC points have special status in not counting for anything worthwhile like status upgrades or lifetime status totals, meaning they're actually worthless too and will just expire again before you can actually extract any tangible benefit from them.

Thanks for nothing Qantas. Just another BS marketing exercise, probably come up with over a weekend BBQ between Joyce + Scotty from Marketing's place.

Allows them to get real data on how much of their customer base is fully vaxed, which informs their modelling on any impact of implementing a no jab no fly policy. If participation is high, then support for such a policy will be too. If its low, they may decide to delay such a policy.

I went the 1000 points early this afternoon. Had no issues uploading from device storage on Android device. No 1000 points in my account yet however.

I'll wait till December to decide if I upload my certificate, and for what currency. I almost maxed out my 500 Status credit I can rollover for next year, and I still have a bunch of trips to take (maybe), so I doubt I'll need the 15 SC, especially as they don't count towards lifetime. 1000 points is not a big incentive for me, I might take them if I feel like I'll need them to retain points plus club, but hopefully I won't need them. So I might take the 20 voucher at the end.

I think Qantas did a smart move overall, lots of PR for this. I also would love to see the number of qantas app download this marketing campaign will generate. Qantas wants it's customer to download and use it's app for self serve booking management, upgrade reminder and requests etc... Smart that the offer is app only. We just need some usefull feature now, for example cancelling a flight for cash without having to call.

Qantas being a private company, it make sense they offer gifts of their own currency such as points, status credit or qantas voucher. No one is forced to take their offer, or to upload their certificate.

I have to say, I think this whole scheme is a disgrace and Joyce and his cronies who came up with the idea should be ashamed of themselves.
I'd love to hear more about why you think the scheme is a disgrace. For anyone who is an anti-vaxer I can see why they'd be upset (although this is just the tip of the iceberg) but otherwise I think it's pure marketing genius. The only mistake they've made is not allowing for a proper exemption to be uploaded (and I'm talking the really small percentage who genuinely can't get one, not someone who got a GP letter because they think they shouldn't get one).

I'd also say put yourself in their shoes for a minute. You're the head of a business that is bleeding money and dropped $1.2 billion last year compared to the previous. The vaccine has come along and in theory the more people to have it, the more likely their business can stay open and operating. Those dragging their feet or refusing to take the jab are hurting their business so it makes sense for them to provide an additional incentive.

As for the actual prizes, the $20 vouchers/points/or SC's are not the prize, the unlimited free flights/accomodation for a year is the prize. You'd struggle to find a media organisation that hasn't mentioned this promotion in the last week which has equated to huge amounts of free advertising even on networks like the ABC.

Finally it comes down to the small bonus like the points or the vouchers. These are also genius as it's actually an encouragement for people to spend more. By providing people with either 1000 points or a $20 voucher they are much more likely to spend them and that involves spending more money on QF or JQ. Obviously we'll never know for sure but it wouldn't surprise me if the order of most selected bonuses are QF$20, QF Points, JQ$20 and finally QF SC's.

It's completely a PR exercise.
Our bubble of AFF here we're all jabbed & it's a small freebie & something to discuss.

It will convince nobody otherwise to get the vaccination.

The few that I've discussed this giveaway with haven't mentioned the Grand prize, they were under impression it's all about 1000 Qantas points or $20 voucher.

It's not going to get anybody even close to borderline hesitant of the jab changing their mind IMO.
Just AJ getting the red roo & his mug on the mainstream flipflop news services.

Did you take up any of the offers or are you refusing on principle
I have to say, I think this whole scheme is a disgrace and Joyce and his cronies who came up with the idea should be ashamed of themselves.
As above
It's completely a PR exercise.
Of course it is a PR exercise that is what AJ does and he seems to be pretty good at it.

For the average punter who collects points to spend in the QF store or to save $20 on a flight, with a couple of minutes of effort and something for free why not go for it. There is probably a number of punters out there that had to download the app just to throw their hand in the ring for the major give-a-ways.
