Got the email just now and have applied to start receiving Velocity statements through the mailbox. Will be interesting to see how long the points take to come through, but they were pretty quick for the last promotion.

Just signed my wife and I up. Easy 2000 points. Might actually start paying my telstra bill through it as well. 50 points for each bill of $50 or higher that you pay through the auspost mailbox. Get the points from the actual credit card transaction on my amex and then an addition bonus 50 points. Not bad.

Actually could you use this mailbox to get around providers that don't accept amex? How does paying a bill through it actually work? Some city councils don't accept amex, this could be a good way to use your card and get the higher points earn. Unless it just gets the bills sent there but you still use your providers payment portal? I added my amex as the funding option.

I joined this a while back for the points but I really don't understand why it even exists. How could it be better than a direct email? Makes no sense. I'll do it for the points I guess and then change it straight back? Or whatever I have to do according to the T&C.

Aus Post trying to stay relevant?

Unfortunately, it just provides a way of storing the bill and your credit card details. It will also send you regular reminders you have bill due
It doesn't increase payment options. If anything it reduces them as it doesn't give you a PayPal option when it is available
The bonus points for new providers are OK

Ah damn. Doesn't look like I'll be getting extra points for paying my rates then. Oh well. Will pay my Telstra bill each month through it, may as well get the extra 50 points a month. That's 600 extra points a year for doing something I need to do anyway.

My home suburban council is not on the Digital Mailbox listing.
Neither is the ATO tax payable.
Points just to have my VFF statement sent there, nak, won't take that offer thanks.

Why not? They are easy points and even better with family pooling (or even puppy pooling☺)

Will the emails still be sent directly in parallel? Not particularly convenient to have to log in to AusPost to read an email. For snail mail, sure I'm all for it (paper bills don't send timely reminders), but for something that's already digital and doesn't require any action? Hmm. Still, 1000 points for negligible effort is good.

The short answer is NO.

That's why I use it. None of my other utliities (water/power/gas etc) are on there, but it's actually easier to pay via that than the Telstra website.

My application was also rejected, but for an 'unspecified error'!

Have tried again, this time putting my name in all caps.

Applications for my 2 children (under 18) also rejected with the following reason (and this is despite them both receiving the offer directly. I'm not sure how you aren't eligible to receive a points statement if you're eligible to be a member and earn points??)

Please read these and fix it Velocity - I'm not even going to bother doing the ring/run around...

I didnt get an error message for my 4 boys last night (and I inadvertantly transposed a date of birth).
They were already in the mailbox system
Will have to see if the points post

got email this morning that provider was matched. Will see how long it takes points to come through.

Really dont see the point of the mailbox though.... ah well as long as they keep giving me points for nothing

Got the confirmation this morning that Velocity was added to my digital mailbox. Haven't really logged in since the 2k points offer sometime last year, will see how long it takes to post the new bonus.

The point of the mailbox is it eliminates paper and stores your documents eg council rate notices.
