Book the Cook- Recommendations

Hello everyone,
I will be flying from LHR to Sin on the 915am flight in mid July.
When selecting the BTC meal, i am torn between the lobster noodles and the rossini beef.
I would like to know what time do they serve the brunch meal and the breakfast meal ?
(IF there is a big gap between the meals, i might go for the beef dish)
And what happens if you go hungry between the meals ? (I probably won't, but i am curious)
Are you allowed to order more dishes ?

You can tell them whenever you want to eat. They just need a bit of time to heat it up. Flown 2 weeks ago (SYD-SIN-ZRH) and I preordered (late) dinner and breakfast but was too full from TPR so I ate both for breakfast (Kyo Kaiseki set and Nasi Lekmak) :p You can also ask for anything in the menu if you are hungry or not happy with preordered ones (they offered me before but I never asked as I was always full). Flight attendants seem to like it when you eat & drink (based on 8 F flights with them).

That is great to know, thank you for the reply, and you are certainly a big eater :D

Out of morbid curiosity Can you pre book or ask for two servings of caviar and lobster ??
And can you ordwe the lobster for breakfast if pastries and eggs arent your thing?

Once bordered you can ask for your lobster to be served at breakfast & order something from the menu for your dinner. If it's a light load you might be offered (or could ask) a second serve of caviar or if travelling with a +1 who doesn't eat caviar make sure they don't say no.

Ordered book the cook for SIN>BNE on 18 July. Changed from the lobster at the last minute as I was concerned it would be too small (first world problems) Ended up with the Itek Sioh, a Peranakan dish of slow cooked duck with a tamarind sauce. This was an excellent meal; the meat was juicy and tender, the was a good quantity of rice, and the vegetables with chinese mushrooms were lovely. Highly recommend if you're after a substantial meat dish in J.

Ok so I posted this to the wrong thread initially so apologies there. Have deleted and now posting here:

Have JFK-SYD in suites coming up in a few weeks and looking for some book the cook suggestions. I don’t have the list of options handy but anything people have had previously that stands out?

Currently have down for a rack of lamb out of JFK, Boston lobster Thermidor out of FRA and nothing selected out of SIN.

Anyone had the suckling pig? And possibly a stupid question but what is the difference between lobster thermidor & Boston lobster thermidor (and which one should I try to work into the itinerary)?

Thanks in advance. :)

Can anyone advise on gluten free options from the Book The Cook range? Yes I realise there is a gluten free option, but I'll be betting that's bland and unappetising. This is not for me, mind, I'm Thermidor all way way brekky-lunch-dinner (well almost). For my wife.

Booked the Kyo Kaiseki for my flight out of SIN about 10 days ago.

Started with the satay. Surprisingly no caviar on this flight (to Bombay, 7pm).

Couldn’t tell you what everything was, but it was amazing:

Then the main which was also excellent.

Asked for the cheese plate which was also terrific.

At the end of all this was asked if I wanted anything else, including the dessert from my set. Having eaten in TPR a few hours prior and after all this food, reckon I’d have exploded with anything more.

Great flight and outstanding service from the crew. Only 3 pax in F. A shame the flight was only 5 hours!

I too booked the Kyo Kaiseki recently on SQ221 (the new suites), it left SIN at ~8.30pm, all 6 suites were occupied. Think mains were served around 10pm and I just wanted to sleep, could not finish all the courses.

Didn't help I ate heaps in the TPR too.

I have a 7pm departure ex SYD coming up next month, thinking of eating in the lounge and just sleeping on board after a tipple or two. debating BTC or just sleep in my head. it is a work trip so that is a priority but being self employed means I don't get many holidays and flights are good to relax and stay away from the phone to enjoy/eat/drink/be merry... hmmm

Have an upcoming flight soon SYD-SIN on SQ 222. Cannot decide with Book the Cook. Have anyone tried the Grilled Beef with peppercorn?

Yes, I have - twice or more and it is always good - almost my go-to meal unless the actual menu is exciting me
