Good Afternoon.

I have just spoken with the chefs at Euro.

Lunch is confirmed for Saturday 28th April commencing 12.30pm.

There will be TWO options with regard to lunch.

Option 1: 7 Course degustation menu showcasing the very finest NZ cuisine. This option will include non-alcoholic drinks, including tea and coffee. Price for that is $250AUD.

Option 2: As above with the addition of champagne/coughtails on arrival, along with matching wines for all 7 courses. Price for that is $400AUD.

This is not a "cheap lunch", nor is it intended to be. This is an "experience" to enjoy an afternoon with like-minded people, enjoying fine food and fine wine. We will not be enduring the "basic" wines at all.

Simon Gault has agreed to be "hands-on" for the day and will lead the cooking, along with his operations manager, head chef at Euro and the sous chef at Euro. I have also asked that particular staff members are there to look after our group. This team of chefs will be working EXCLUSIVELY for our group during the whole afternoon. Our area will be blocked off to the general public and all guests will have a chance to sit at the "chefs table" and watch some of the dishes being created. I expect we will finish around 5 - 6pm just in time for some post lunch drinks at the Hilton.

I have mentioned the possibility of a couple of options including a "steak" at Jervois. We can do this on either the Friday night or Sunday lunch/dinner.

Also, if enough people are interested, we can visit some wineries on the Sunday during the day and do some tasting.

As I have mentioned before, it is now time to confirm the numbers. I have had several PM's and I would ask that others who have not yet responded to please do so as soon as possible. Please advise if you have any dietary requirements. I'm allergic to nuts so there will be none featuring on the menu. Anything aside from that, please advise. Vegetarians and Vegans will be catered for if required. Please also ensure you let me know if you are travelling alone or with a +1.

Once we have finalised the numbers, I will advise via email of payment procedure.

I would prefer you email me rather than PM as my inbox fills quite quickly. [email protected]

Please also let me know if you require a guest pass for the F Lounge in either SYD or MEL and I will see if I can pull some strings.

Finally, just a reminder if you are staying at the Hilton or Pullman, please let me know. We will be having some drinks on Friday and Saturday night and I'd like it if most people can attend.

We may need to reduce the numbers and if so it will be on this basis. 1st in, top priority if I know you or you are "referred" by another AFF member whom I know. ANY member "referred" by ANY of the Mods.

I'm looking forward to a fantastic weekend and if you know anything about "bossreggie" you will know that you will be in for a treat. This may not be something you do every weekend, but it will be something you will remember for a very long time.

I look forward to seeing you all on the weekend.

This will be an interactive lunch and Simon will be able to answer questions and chat with all members of our group. He will also be attending "drinks" at the Hilton with those of us staying at the hotel.

just returned from Auckland.
So not up to date with the thread.

I am definitely in. Not sure about +1 though.
PI can confirm by close of biz today.
This all assumes I get an invite.

Alas

Was hoping to find the readies to come by April, but now find termites have mocked this thread and chewed on our house. That kinda settled it.

However, budget still stretches to BNE drinks, so hope to meet you there, bossreggie!

Cheers skip

As I've mentioned before, I can't guarantee any Australian/NZ type engagements after early March, so have not responded further.

I hope everyone has a great time. Would be great to attend, but alas I think (hope?), I will be many miles away.

Unfortunately there is no way I could confirm now so i join the official scratchings list.
The offer is still warmly appreciated.

Doesn't look like we can attend now. We'd have just gotten back from our trip to Asia and it'd be a bit of a stretch to swing a weekend to NZ so soon after. Sorry! :(

If any are flying out of AKL Monday morning we may be able to catch up briefly as I transit from NZ005 (6:30am) to (8:20am) NZ123.

Enjoy the weekend people ...

Dammit, that's the flights I wanted, but I waited 12 hours too long to book and the JASA option dissapeared :(

See you in the F Lounge (for a very, very quick eggs benedict, if I'm lucky)

You could always get QF799 from Cairns and sleep on the plane :)

That's no good to me....

1/ I still won't connect to your flights....

2/ When I was thinking (like you) of going via the F Lounge.... I was not thinking of the BNE F Lounge!! ;)

If QF8 on time do you want me to order for you then may be it will at table same time as you (allowing for shuttle time).

Had a thought why not ring and see if they will change flights, read in here somewhere it has been done - anyway no harm in trying.

I had thought about trying that, might give it a go. I'll get back to you.

No need to order for me, called the fantastic guys at the WP number and I'm now on QF8, seat 1A. First time I've ever chosen to be lower rather than upper deck!
