Brisbane Lounge Changes

Hmm ... should I duck in during my dash from QF600 to QF15 that morning.

If you are indeed flying on QF600 on 11 March then I don't think it operates on Saturday.

QF604 is the first flight on Saturday and you have plenty of time,

Yes, I can confirm it because the information came directly from Qantas.

My next flight is on 17/03. I'm looking forward to the new lounge.... Will I see you there David?

Oh well... Was going to check it out Saturday morning but I guess the quicker I get to international the better.

The #1 thing to remember when scheduling to do something after a construction project finishes is that there can be delays.

The #2 thing: there can be delays

oh and #3: you guessed it, there can be delays.

If you remember the above then hopefully you won't be disappointed when you find there are delays.

yeah it's all good. life happens. the irony for me is that my trp was to also try out a new hotel which also has a delayed opening so it's ironic I guess.

no biggie. I can sleep in a bit and just drop in for a few beers before my flight. I'll live :)

I'm disappointed because they have well and truely thrown their big opening coughtail party tonight, but are now opening Tuesday.

And no I didn't book specifically for the lounge, I booked the BNE transit 6 months ago, but to be told continually over the last few months that it would be open by then, and to have it whipped out from under our noses on opening night is disappointing. But I probably should have learnt my lesson from CX's LHR debacle last year

Will the new lounge be open on 19 March? Or 31 March? Or 13 April? Or 21 April? Or 28 April?

I can wait....

Just because the lounge can host 150 pax for two hours at a staged event doesn't mean it's quite ready for the reality of perhaps a thousand travellers across a single day. There's no doubt some work still to be done behind the scenes as well as ensuring staff are fully up to speed with the new kitchen and food service etc. Better for a lounge to be open a bit later and be as good as it can be, and give passengers a great experience, than open a few days earlier just because that's what the schedule said and let people down.

Perhaps there may be a soft opening ahead of the official date to get things ironed out?

A new hotel in Brizzie, which one?

I suspect going by posts, the 14th March.

I'm likely back through 20th - can anyone who has been there tell me what the domestic J lounge showers are like.

Sure. I vote P1's be able to use it between Sat and Tuesday - or whenever the opening will end up being :D

(Seriously I suppose if they get everything sorted Sunday somehow they might move the opening forward, but doubt it)

Don't laugh, but I was looking at the HIX in Spring Hill :)

So frustrating. I booked for Saturday with the belief I'd experience the new lounge.

I'm transiting through BNE on Sunday from CNS to MEL and put in for a points upgrade (already awarded) on the last segment specifically so I could check out the new lounge. I guess there is no way to cancel it now
