Brisbane Lounge Changes

I'm likely back through 20th - can anyone who has been there tell me what the domestic J lounge showers are like.

There are 5 showers, more specious than previous ones. Similar to international J lounge standards.

Did anyone go to the opening coughtail party last night and can share any feedback or photos?

I'm transiting through BNE on Sunday from CNS to MEL and put in for a points upgrade (already awarded) on the last segment specifically so I could check out the new lounge. I guess there is no way to cancel it now

Can't you cancel an upgrade outside of 24h of flight without penalty?

I'm disappointed because they have well and truely thrown their big opening coughtail party tonight, but are now opening Tuesday.

And no I didn't book specifically for the lounge, I booked the BNE transit 6 months ago, but to be told continually over the last few months that it would be open by then, and to have it whipped out from under our noses on opening night is disappointing. But I probably should have learnt my lesson from CX's LHR debacle last year

The coughtail party is not the same as opening the lounge proper. Apparently at midday the lounge was still a construction zone. Anything involving construction can have delays.

You could see looking around last night there is still lots of finishing to do.

Looks good - I get to check it out at the end of the month :)

Agree... impressive

my only thought is on the Mexican food thing.

I'd hope or think what would be good is if the theme changed on a regular basis.. even if it was seasonal like in the F lounges... say maybe hearty Italian for winter months, Thai in spring etc...

I mean I've nothing against Mexican (or Pizza in PER) but if I flew out of BNE on a regular basis and it was the same thing all the time... that could get old

other than that very minor thought it looks great

oh the premium lobby doesn't seem to have kiosks? does this suggest the agents check you in or what? Very interesting look to the premium entrance at any rate.

I can see from the pic that they have the pizza oven like PER dom J lounge which is fantastic!

Wish Adelaide would get a J lounge.
Maybe eventually. Though there's only the one Qantas lounge both for domestic and international flights in Adelaide.

I wish the MEL Dom J lounge was refreshed with a bigger lounge. It often is very full.

Thanks for the photos nlagalle and boomy. I'm heading over to PER on 26th (but on VA), so will get there early to have a little look. Coming back on QF (just a pity that schedules and cost made VA the better choice for me outbound :()
