Brisbane Lounge Changes

To my personal taste, absolutely! But they both serve premium brands and you could also argue that many pax will be more impressed by the iconic Dom label.

I will certainly agree that everyone's tastes are different, I do suspect that some people are impressed by a label and not what's in the bottle.

im a Fan of the PJ, so If and when im next in the BNE Intl J lounge, I shall be cheeky and ask :-)

Yes it's refreshing, In fact I'm having one right now :)

Exactly what I was saying and I believe it's more than some... Many pax don't get to try different varieties so naturally will be impressed by more famous labels like Dom champagne, Penfolds reds JW Blue label etc.

And if you get the chance over multiple years your taste can change. When I was younger I didn't fancy Veuve Clicquot but I do now. I was fortunate to attend a Dan Murphy's Champagne tasting night too, which really opened my eyes and I remember finding it odd that I wouldn't like an NV but would like the vintage by one house, but it'd be the exact opposite with another (like the NV, but dislike the vintage).

I do enjoy PJ though.

Lounges were full in my brief visit on the weekend (early afternoon). Also seemed to be struggling to keep the place cool. must be tough to keep a reasonably decent lounge service available while renovations are taking place.

OT: that was a fun night.

Brisbane being humid too, which probably does not help with the current lounge.
Was in Brisbane one Aust Day long weekend... ooo its not only hot but humid.

lounge a bit noisy with portable A/C but humidity definitely better than the real world

If I feel that have turned on the chest high air cond as you come out of the BNE QFd side satellite zone, as you come towards the BNEd QP/QFd J lounge I know it will be hot outside.
I am used to the sort of dry heat that ADL has, eventhough for the first 15 years of my life, I only knew the wet humid heat of BNE (some times in the year/DRW), but now its not my fav.
I prefer the dry heat.
Ok, thanks all.
Crossing my paws that my upgrade chances are better with U availability, and that I will get to get the upgrade, and visit the BNE QFd J lounge for the first time.

Oh the excitement over a domestic lounge. This must be good.

no need to be cynical. As I'm sure you know more than most the BNE lounge situation has been poor for years now in terms of space, comfort and amenity... a new space based on the PER lounge can only be a huge improvement for a fairly major QF city.

Sure, it won't be a F lounge but it WILL be a huge improvement for those using BNE so yeah given the great reports about the PER experience .... it bodes well

Cynical? I've been using the BNE lounge almost weekly since 2008. It's ok. It's comfortable. Occasionally it gets packed. But it is still just a lounge.

Interesring to see the changes in mid March.

OK sorry. I read your comment as a bit cynical or sarcastic.....

Maybe this is like the champagne thing. Some people see more value in lounge amenity than others. :)

We'll see in under a month (hopefully!)

FYI, QF advises the lounge's 'open to the public' date has been nudged back to Saturday March 11 (was previously Friday March 10).

uh oh date creep. Maybe they want a non peak day opening to ease staff in? interesting.

Hmm ... should I duck in during my dash from QF600 to QF15 that morning.
