Australia: Information on Tropical Cyclone Alfred off the coast of Queensland

We're closely monitoring Tropical Cyclone Alfred off the coast of South-East Queensland and are working alongside airport authorities, air traffic control and airport services providers to ensure any impact to schedules are clearly communicated to customers and our people.
While the cyclone is expected to make landfall from Friday, there will be cancellations and schedule changes from Thursday 6 March 2025 including:
- Brisbane (BNE) – Qantas flights will be suspended from mid-afternoon Thursday. International operations will be suspended until at least midday Saturday local time and Australian domestic operations will be suspended until at least Sunday morning local time.
- Gold Coast (OOL) – Qantas flights are currently suspended until at least Sunday morning local time.
- Ballina (BNK) – Qantas flights are currently suspended until at least Sunday morning local time.
- Coffs Harbour (CFS) – Qantas flights are expected to resume on Friday.
- Sunshine Coast (MCY) and Hervey Bay (HVB) – at this time, flights continue to operate. We'll continue to review and make changes as required.

The safety of our customers and people is our main priority and we're working to assess when flights can safely resume.
Flexibility for our customers
We're offering additional flexibility to customers who have booked flights on or before 3 March 2025 for travel to or from:
- Bundaberg, Coffs Harbour, Hervey Bay, Lord Howe Island and Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore) departing between 4 and 9 March 2025.
- Ballina (Byron), Brisbane, and Gold Coast departing between 4 and 16 March 2025.
