Cathay Pacific Delays/Cancellations

CX161 is delayed for the second consecutive day with its Sunday 13 August arrival likely at 1000, 46 minutes late. Aircraft is A333 B-HLS.

Thursday 17 August 2017 has seen CX134, the early morning 0745 hours MEL - HKG (A333 B-HLG) not become airborne until 1127, so arrival is estimated at 1838 rather than 1520 hours, 198 minutes late. Many connections will be missed. This morning, CX135 was 50 minut6es late when it arrived in MEL at 0710 hours,. so it must have required repairs in Melbourne.

On Tuesday 22 August 2017, CX163 1035 hours mid morning HKG to MEL, A333 B-HLQ that was airborne at 1119 is arriving at 2229 hours, 49 late.

The return leg of this flight is cancelled (CX178 to HKG on 23/08/2017) as a result of typhoon Hato..

Thank you tomcut2000 for that 'small hours' post. The timetabled departure of CX163 above should have read '1035' (hours.) That has been corrected.

On Wednesday 23 August, CX135 (A333 B-HLS) is arriving at about 0735, 75 minutes late. This will delay the timetabled 0745 hours MEL - HKG, CX134.

You are very welcome.. CX134 will also be delayed severely also due to the same typhoon!! Cathay Pacific has cancelled all departures and arrivals into HKG until 5pm HKG time (7pm AEST).. thus if looking for CX139, CX163 and CX157 arriving into SYD, MEL and BNE tonight- these are ALL cancelled! CX171 to Perth id delayed till 6pm HK time.

CX161, an overnight HKG - SYD (A333 B-LAL) is also significantly delayed with Wednesday 23 August arrival likely at 1045, 120 minutes late.

Slow reporting but SAT 26/08/17 CX173 HKG-ADL delayed departure by 40mins on ground due to restricted ATC movements cause by weather.

Delayed arrival by 40min as well.

Monday 11 September 2017 sees CX157 (1245 hours from HKG down to BNE that took off at 1346 with A350 B-LRL) suggested as arriving late tonight at 2348, 33 minutes behind.

The Thursday 14 September CX103, that rare bird these days that undertakes a flight domestically in Australia (although it cannot carry domestic passengers, only own stopover and through traffic) took off from CNS with A333 B-LAC at 0908 despite an 0745 hours scheduled pushback. Arrival looks to be 1056 hours, 66 late.

With Thursday 14 September's strong winds in SYD, CX138 (2155 hours SYD up to HKG, B773Er B-KQF) did not take off until 2248, so Friday 15 arrival is suggested as 0546 hours, 31 late.

On Friday 15 September, CX134 (0745 hours MEL - HKG, A333 B-LAH) did not become airborne until 0949 hours. Consequently, arrival is not forecast until 1651 late this afternoon, 91 late.

CX101 (2355 hours very late night Friday 22 September 2017 HKG - SYD) took off at 0040 on Saturday 23.

Arrival of A333 B-LAH should be at roughly 1136, 41 minutes late.

CX134, the 0745 hours day flight from MEL to HKG (A333 B-LAC) took off at 0837 hours on Friday 29 September. Hence arrival is delayed until a suggested 1609 hours, 49 minutes late.

A333 B-LAH on Sunday 1 October 2017's CX134, the 0845 hours MEL up to HKG is badly late with takeoff at 1312 this afternoon. Consequently, arrival is back to 1912 this evening, 232 minutes late.

CX162 (1105 hours SYD - HKG) has a less severe delay with B-HLS, also an A333, taking off at 1213 meaning predicted arrival at 1832 hours, 42 late.

On Tuesday 2 October 2017, CX161 (A333 B-LAE) looks to be arriving SYD (ex HKG) at 1033 hours, 48 minutes late. This will delay the returning CX162, the scheduled 1105 out of SYD to at least 1150 in its departure.

While there are many considerations such as whether slots for arrivals and departures are available at particular times, as well as basic matters like airport gate utilisation, this again shows the value of more than minimum turnarounds for international airlines where possible (as it may not be in this CX case.)

For instance, this morning into MEL, VN781 and MH149 are both delayed but as they have generous turnaround allowances, their return flights (unlike the CX one above) should be able to punctually depart.

Also on 2 October, CX134 (0845 hours morning MEL - HKG, A333 B-LAC) was airborne at 0949, so arrival is estimated at 1558, 38 minutes late.

On Tuesday 3 October, CX101 (2355 hours Monday late evening HKG to SYD that took off at 0150 this morning, B773ER B-KQX) should arrive at about 1323 hours, 88 minutes behind schedule.

Friday 6 October has CX144 (2205 hours Thursday night HKG - PER that was in the sky at 2324 hours, A333 B-LAH) arriving at a suggested 0703, 73 late.
