Cathay "World of Winners" promo - discounted tickets to Hong Kong

It seems that way....problem is finding flights with any O remaining, cant see ANY (from MEL at least)

I have read somewhere, (not 100% sure), someone has done it in the US, it says when it opens, you will need to answer a quiz.

Then they will make a draw, winners will be issued a code via email to book.

So does it means any Y flight will have the base fare written off with the code when checking out? maybe.

Hi TomLee1986,

The people here know what is happening around the world.
However, the free tickets, if won and for the travel period you like, could still be useful for:

1. visiting friends
2. visiting relatives
3. as a base to buy cheap tickets to fly somewhere else to have a holiday there. i.e. Japan.

by free I think the taxes and charges could be over $500 AUD, I am not sure.

If I have to pay full fare I would pick Europe / America / Japan over HK subject to season, of course.

Yes, so Monday I will give it a go.
I understand why you feel this way, but I think this news will shock many people… this is a trusted news source from associated press - a Uyghur person is fear detained in HK and possibly sent to chi na because of chi na genocide! Hence I DO NOT recommend ANYONE entering this campaign! This news happened today (27/05/2023)!!

Yes I would feel a bit queasy about visiting China and unfortunately that now includes Hong Kong 🙁

I know many won’t believe how “evil” this campaign is… but this is a HK YouTuber called Martin Oei saying these free tickets are a way for CCP to steal your information then to kidnap you AND send you to Chi Na for “crimes” or even summarily executed! Don’t forget Xi is called Xitler for a reason! Also HK government response is absolutely alarming

Quite. I’m flying CX to Europe and back in 2 wks and I’m pretty sure I won’t be hauled away…

But yes, there’s some issues up (and elsewhere for that matter).

I think this is rigged, I enter the queue like <1 seconds after 12 pm, and I am queue 12xx_ already, and there is only 6000 free tickets.
