Cathay "World of Winners" promo - discounted tickets to Hong Kong

Hong Kong International Airport has sponsored 6,020 Adult Economy Class round-trip tickets for Cathay members to fly from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane to Hong Kong. All taxes and surcharges apply and are at the cost of the traveller.

Dont know if this is total of 6020 or for each city, I'm tipping total is 6020
I am reading it as total.

I'm sitting at 7219 so just gotta hope enough people ahead of me give up or can't find suitable dates 🤷 definitely interested in what the cost with taxes and surcharges will be....

Ohh how do we do this?

Looks like it's already crashed!!

Didn't matter unfortunately. While the promo website and front page use the script (bypassable) method, the booking website uses the server-side queue method, which defeats the bypass.

Got to here and it crashed again. Refreshing the page doesnt do anything.
The code seems to work when inputting on the front page and fulfilling all the other conditions. Lands you in the exclusive ticket offer queue though.

Although free flights is a great headline, I wonder how much negative press Cathay will get from thousands of frustrated and disappointed potential customers?

I'm planning to go back to Hong Kong anyway later this year so if i got this deal i would be very happy but at 17106 in the queue I have no chance lol
I will most likely fly with another airline (most likely Qantas) using points and pay.

I doubt the queue number is relevant anymore when the booking page errors out when you get there.

Try inputting the code from the front page reservation before your queue position is reset.

No luck with that. It gives the error "The discount code you have entered is only valid for members or a specific membership status. Please sign in to your account and try again." even though the screen shows as logged in!

queuing to see the error - they might as well make a draw and send a one-time use-only free ticket code to book which is linked to your passport name only.
That would make so much more sense... I'd say Cathay are losing a few future, paying customers from this promotion too - I'd rather fly with someone else now...

I tried but I'm pretty sure it's linked to that exclusive booking page so can't be used on the main site.
