Changes to JQ On Departure Upgrade Prices

Presumably, if you are one world emerald (QFF Gold) or above, they will let you in.

If JQ were a one world carrier, access would happen. However, JQ isn't so CX may not.

And if there is no arrangement between Jetstar and Cathay for Cathay to be paid when someone enters, they aren't really going to allow entry...

It is up to Jetstar to negotiate lounge access for StarClass and/or FF'ers entry to the lounge. The fact they don't seem to have done this already just continues to highlight the lack of respect Jetstar (and Qantas) has for people who fly Jetstar.

The QF lounge was poorly utilised when it existed, CNS is predominantly a tourist destination for internaitonal visitors, I was in there for one of the last QF flights and there was 3 people in total using the lounge and two previous visits had the same utilisation.

Given the lounge is very poor as far as facilities go, and that CX flights mean its only available for an hour two hours before the JQ flight 4 days a week (its not open for the the other 3 until after JQ leaves) I cannot see JQ doing anything to change the situation in the near future, especially as they only have one starclass cabin to provide lounge access for.

Yes of course Oz Mark; I should have thought of this.

Then again, when in KL is 2007 on a JQ flight in cattle class, I was given access to the CX lounge on my shappire one world. Not sure that the lady on the desk understood the rules but never hurts to ask.

OK, I'm going to give an ODU a go at Narita tomorrow. I got my points and SCs for the ODU from CNS last week. Let's see how this goes. The CNS CSO said that upgrades couldn't be done from NRT anymore but advice from this forum says otherwise. I think I might believe this forum!

Any advice?

I've just returned from NRT-OOL on JQ. At check-in, upgrade to Starclass was advertised on the screens at JPY17,000 ~AU$220.

I missed this thread and should of chipped in some time ago. (I thought I did report this somewhere) The CNS int lounge was operating as a jetstar lounge in May when I flew in *class. As well as other airlines like CX.

Any experiences on the new JQ7/8 MEL-SIN/SIN-MEL
Flying in a couple of weeks

My sister just flew JQ38 DPS-SYD and asking equiv of A$280

Also interesting on searching DPS-SYD offered
JQ116/JQ8/JQ508 a DPS-SIN-MEL-SYD.
Surprising that the DPS-SIN is a JQ not 3K code

Any experiences on the new JQ7/8 MEL-SIN/SIN-MEL
Flying in a couple of weeks

Flew this the other day with tuapekestar and Bundy Bear.

First meal was lunch, and best described as substantial. Choice of three dishes.
Second meal was dinner, which was described as a light meal, but was a decent size.

Between that was a cheese/biscuits/fruit service. And a Bailey's service :)

Now it may have been that there was 11 PAX in *Class (of which 2 were staff paxing to SIN), with 3 FA's, but the meals were served from the galley which was a nice touch. (The cheese service was on a trolley)

My Heineken ordered 4 months ago on a Qantas flight magically appeared in front of me on this flight :) It is fair to say that none of us went thirsty on the flight

The 'comfort pack' supplied has improved from last time I flew *Class. Included lip balm, toothpaste, toothbrush, blanket, eye shades, socks, blow up neck pillow thing.

Certainly an improvement on last time I flew *Class.

Good news:D

SWMBO and I are on this flight in around 5½ weeks.

JQ7 MEL-SIN - $249 upgrade.
Had called night before and told plenty of seats available but unable to be done over phone. Was at airport on check-in open at 9am and they were unsure of the prices but suggested all MEL ones were either $199 or $249. SIN is obviously one of the longer flights hence $249.
Was told get food/ drinks etc but no increased baggage allowance.

More interestingly the boarding pass still says sold as
LAST/FIRST
(JLSF,) and then has JS LIGHT clearly printed on it.
Will see if the points come through.

Flight delayed to 2.30pm departure (received SMS at 7.12am advising of this) - was on a 7.00am flight down from SYD so now have 5 hrs in the FL !!!.
Based on MEL arrivals looks like JQ7 takes the plane from the arriving JQ30 (BKK-MEL) with a scheduled 100min turnaround.

Today continues this services horrible flight stats. Flight Stats shows
Observations 15
Average Delay (min.) 60.00
Standard Deviation 41.13
Min 16
Max 142
so potentially setting a new record with a 150min delay / now 170min !!

JQ staff were kind enough however to check me in for 3K537 to HKT, so will now have a very short layover in SIN

Can I say now a 5-hour delay and counting...

JQ airport managers has refused to transfer Plats (3 of us) to QF9 which departs in 10min. Still no update as to when we may takeoff.

JQ has at least agreed to put HKT transfer pax up in a hotel and go on morning flight.

Quite normal. Points should still come through.

Thanks Dazz.
Our wheel problem turned into an engine problem and then the tech crew went out of hours.

Now likely to take off 9hrs late for a 7.5hr flight.....

Good luck to the crew

I guess there's worse places to await this flight than the Flounge, or even the JLounge.

Think of those who need to wait at the gate (I hope they have been provided meal vouchers x 2 at the very least.):-|

Wouldn't it be cheaper for them to put you on to QF9 (assuming it's not full) than to book a hotel room?
