Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

If it is costing $500 each way for ODU now I am definitely now just purchasing a *class fare for mrs taswegian to go to BKK next week. At $1675 return for *class and $875 for economy it is actually cheaper to book it than try the upgrade method of course unless it is a different price for BKK travel.

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

It MIGHT be cheaper to Bangkok than to NRT but I dont know for sure. I'm pretty sure they have put all of them up, but as to how much they have all gone up, and to what price, I have no idea. Doesn't help much does it? Maybe a phone call to Jetstar will give the answer.

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

as much as I would love to save, I think having me up the front and mrs taswegian at the back would not go down too well considering she is carrying three little devils in her tummy. I will take the confirmed paid approach this time and just ask when I check in what the costs are fo rfuture reference.

In which case I'd say JQ have been successful, as this is the mindset I would think they are trying to get people into.......

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

3 little devils?!?!?! Oh yes I would DEFINITELY go down that route..

Don't forget the guaranteed status credits and points for booking *class, you are unlikely to get them if you ODU.

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

I'm travelling MEL-BKK on JG next week so I will check out the current cost and report back.

Yes came as a shock to us having three at once, and yes the SC's and points are guaranteed which is good.

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

Hi All

Just got back from Hawaii last night, at Sydney we were charged $500 each to upgrade to *class, we were a bit shocked as last year was $300 each but was worth it and on taking our seats still seemed to be availability. On the return journey they were offering *class at US$ 165.00 each and had 7 seats left so again we jumped at the chance, last year it was US$250 each so there does not seem to be a lot of consistency around the upgrade costs. The lounge at Honolulu seemed smaller and I think must be being renovated. No issues with luggage we had pre bought our tickets in Oct 08 before the reduction in luggage from 2 x 32 kilos to 1 x 20 Kilo bag. but the lady at check in said Jetstar only wanted passengers to carry the 1 x 20 kilo bag, from what we could see everyone had in excess of that. We have been going back and fore Hawaii since 1995 love the shopping but may need to check another airline to see if the 2 bag policy is in place say with Hawaiin Air as 1 bag at 20 kilos is not much good for us. If anyone needs any accommodation advice let me know as have a contact there that we use for one bed apartments. The flight from Sydney to Melbourne was delayed so it made it a really long flight home and a chilly ten degrees in Melbourne unlike the 30 that we had come from.

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

So it's only ex-AUS that we are being stung... Shame!

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

Perhpas that reflects demand?

More like demand on specific flights, my friends only paid AU$300ea to upgrade SYD-HNL 2 weeks ago.

It may also have some bearing on the base fare as they didnt have one of the heavily discounted fares.
