Pushka I've tried to watch from there before, and the best thing is you've got some elevation but it is a long way away. Place de la Concorde is closed and normally has team cars from La Course. All along there is packed at race time, but you can usually get glimpses. Last year I bit the bullet, paid my money and watched from the stands.

I did a check today. All sold out.

That's a pain! I remember I did book mine a few months before the event. Don't worry; you'll still enjoy it!

Watching La Course.Earlier there was rain on the camera lenses.Just now it looks like the rain has stopped but conditions still don't look great.
Anyway it is still better there than the painful weather in Burnie today.I am even wearing my thermals indoors.

We walked away after a few laps to get a different vantage point and found that they were cycling down under a ramp - this part of the map had confused us but it was a tunnel. Will post a picture shortly. Well that's the plan anyway

We started the long walk to the hotel but on a bridge near the Notre Dame we saw a couple pointing. We thought it was the remains of fireworks then realised the smoke was just the beginning. Thankfully didn't pfaff around getting the camera out as it was over in seconds and MrP and I frantically snapped away. Grrr to only loading up 5 photos. I've had to reduce the quality in order to post them here but they look stunning on the laptop

In need of a hearty meal after the cold and rain we decided to try the restaurant right next to our hotel. It always had a queue of diners outside. We were early by Parisian standards and got a seat. We were the only tourists there and everyone was talking in French. Fabulous. The menu showed it was Basque so very much hearty rustic food. The menu - we decided against the guts and ordered Poulet Basquase. Oh my, wonderful. At last we had found authentic - not fine dining but brilliant rustic French

Though it is interesting that there is an English menu. I would expect you to be ordering in French by now.
