China - what is actually the reality there?

WHO should be abolished

What is the point ? The Chinese will infiltrate and corrupt whatever replaces it.

We need to draw some lines in the sand, China is not our enemy.. yet.. but we must stop acting like a doormat.

Simple - put Taiwan in charge of the new health organisation.

that would be sufficient to trigger a reunification… be careful what you wish for

Taiwan is good in fighting this pandemic... and I agree WHO must be abolished! But I hope the world would NOT allow the organisation be influenced by Mainland China like WHO is now
My concern is those small countries that are faltering - our neighbours - and who may look for financial support and we all know where that may come from.

And if it is offered, the small country would of course accept it. Stands to reason. We can't bleat how bad it is that they have done this if we didn't offer sufficient support. Regardless of the country/ies involved - others have done the same thing in the past.:)

Of course the small countries will accept the “donation or gift”

Of course. Can't blame them. We both saw the port development in Colombo funded by Chinese companies.
But we all know the outcry that will come when Australia tries to fund development programmes in these countries in order to avert any foreign infiltration.

Though in virtually all cases China's aid is not a gift. There are some pretty hefty strings attached.Just that most small countries don't realise this until it is too late.
Some countries though resist such as Botswana.

I’d say - never a gift.

Only small countries? Money rules in political and business circles in every country. National interest, morality and ethics goes way down the list. Money speaking in various circles has given away control of the Darwin port and all the associated intelligence of maritime, naval and freight movements to the CCP.

Not quite true.

Unfortunately, this is not true.

Na, Fake news. It’s just arguing the semantics of the word “China” of which after the “illegal takeover” of Taiwan by the KMT in ‘49, they have not yet come to accept the Maoist revolution.

pointless argument.

I would not be surprised if 20m Chinese are infected, we talk of one province but how is the rest of China holding up.

The Chinese govt has no credibility when is comes to honest numbers or reporting on many topics. Saving face and making a buck is paramount

However, They are excellent at good news.
