No, it's actually BMW the car. The elitists actually have a hidden thread where they plot against the pleb members.
Incidentally, I wonder if they are going to put chips in Centurion cards seeing they are hand-crafted from Titanium? They have a 5 year expiry too, so anyone with one could be waiting a while to find out!
I tried using my chip Plat Edge card at 7-eleven after filling up my car with petrol. My card has the tap and go feature, so did the merchant's pad (ANZ Bank badged), so I gave that a go. Didn't work - showed as invalid. I then inserted my chip card. Didn't work - showed as invalid. I had to then fall back on swiping my card instead. Tap and go and the chip worked elsewhere.
FYI Centurion cards will be shipped in batches from the end of February. My partner and I are on the list for the first batch - you can be put on the list to be the first to get them.
, he said no and inserted into the reader anyway, I subsequently entered the incorrect pin and he refused to swipe and let me sign
(Incidentally, how do you cut up a titanium card when issued a new one? I asked Amex that once when the additional card was issued with the name incorrectly listed and they couldn't answer!!)
Thanks Hayden - I assume though they will change the last 4 digits of the card number though? Or are they making an exception here? I believe you need to send it back to them (well - a contractor out West that destroys the card).
I've heard that some people are having issues with getting their pin "burnt" to their card. (The card needs to be inserted into a properly configured chip reader for Amex to be able to burn the pin number you selected online to the card apparently).
What constitutes a "properly configured" chip reader?

Not only this, but :
Can I change my PIN?
Unfortunately, you can't change the PIN you nominate for your American Express Card once it has been set.
Seems like American Express Australia is just implementing some half baked solution.
We pay so much annual fee and we get half baked products? I've never been so disappointed with American Express until now.
In the UK, you just insert your American Express card into ATM to change PIN.
In all fairness, in the UK that is standard for any card. IIRC in Australia even for your usual bank card you can only do it either at the bank, over the phone or via THEIR ATM only.
