Are they correct in the google spreadsheet? I haven't changed anything.

All good now. Looks like I was in the Wiki and the Google sheets although I was only clicking on the link at the bottom of the Wiki. Confusing? Details have now reappeared. Thanks.

*** News Flash ***

We have just heard that Tequila Mockingbird has been sold, and is having its last dinner tonight (11 Feb) before closing the doors for rebranding. This is expected to take "about a month". That is too close for comfort for our liking, so we are going to look elsewhere. And yes, I am muttering some choice words under my breath.

Stay tuned.

Hey, what's the worst that can happen? Pizza and beer in the park!?!

I haven't been to CHC since 2010 but when I was there last we had a great experience at Curator's House; might be worth looking into since it's similar Latin food and a venue that definitely fits dressing up in a beautiful location.

Hopefully someone local can provide better insights as to what's good these days though :)

The Curators House is an excellent choice. My neighbour swears by Bamboozle which offers Asian fusion. Another solid choice would be Chillingworth Road - on the pricey side and not in the CBD but nothing a few taxis couldn't fix. CHC is not that big! I'll ask around and see if I can come up with further suggestions.

Well after a few overseas phone calls*, local texts, and much web browsing a new location has been sourced. Thanks for the quick response with suggestions from Katy and chchkiwi.

Dinner is now at Curator's House. Curators House | Spanish Restaurant

They have a set menu with a good range of meals, as well as an interesting wine list.

Unless there are strong objections I will advise them that we will have the $78 menu. It has steak for the carnivores, as well as a selection of entrees. It is more than the $55 we had at Tequila Mockingbird but we think it is still good value.

They are happy to split the bill at the end of the night, but won't run separate tabs. And, sorry to say, no Amex.

*Thank goodness for free phone calls to NZ

Curator's House menu looks delightful and a comfortable strolling distance from the DoubleTree! They also have one of my favourite Pinot Noirs on the menu! (Ata Rangi).

Thanks JessicaTam and co for your splendid organisational skills. I'm looking forward to this!

Strolling distance from Double Tree suits me

Wow things have changed since my last visit here. Good choice, have walked by but never been in. Looking forward to it. And I now have a lounge buddy from MEL. Viridianne where do we hang out QF, EK...lounge crawl?

Thanks for the update, JessicaTam. Do we know what time dinner is to be at? I may be planning a journey to Edoras on one of the two days I'll be at CHC.

That sounds like a plan, Eija!

Ooh, I think I might have a +1 if there's room now! I'll confirm today hopefully :)

And confirmation received!

My BFF and usual travel-buddy would love to come along and meet all these Frequent Flyer types I keep talking about, if there's space.

I have spoken to the restaurant this afternoon/evening and confirmed 23 for dinner!

7.30 start time, as they have another group coming in at 7.

There have been no howls of protest so I have opted for the $78 menu.

Thanks to whoever updated the wiki with the new info.

Katy, is your BFF a CHC/NZ local?
