Further to my last, There is room at the new venue for a maximum of 30, but 26 if we want a bit of space.

So at the moment we are at 23, and can take 3 more easily!

And the good news for those of us coming back via BNE, the new lounge is due to open on the 10th.

Are there any plans/suggestions for Sunday activities?

I considered the Transalpine to Greymouth (day trip) or Lord of the Rings Journey to Edoras. Though I'm open to suggestions on what a couple of us can do as a group?

Unfortunately the Transalpine train service won't be available until 2 April due to damaged tracks. A bus service to Greymouth is being offered in the meantime.

This will be my OH's first time to NZ so I was thinking of taking him to Willowbank for a maori cultural experience, hangi dinner, and kiwi spotting. Probs on the Sunday night (we're there until Wednesday).

We'd be up for doing something touristy on the Sunday with others. Maybe a wine tasting trip up to Waipara Hills etc?
We were wanting to do the train up to Arthur's Pass but not sure a bus trip would have the same effect...
We'll probably also do the Edoras tour, but maybe not on the Sunday as it's a long day we may leave that for the Mon or Tues.
We're thinking of getting a hire car and taking a trip to Hamner Springs too

Thankfully the event is a sell out as I can't make it being employed until Wednesday 15th March.

19* working days to go.... not that I'm counting

*excluding today

Except that we still have a few spots available :p

Those with a car could consider heading down to Akaroa, its lovely down that way. You can do wildlife cruises, swim with the dolphins etc.

Akaroa is gorgeous. I'd definitely recommend a visit for those who haven't been.

I've hired a 4x4 and 3 of us going to Akaroa for lunch.

I can highly recommend the Antarctic Centre ($ 59 General entry fee from memory). It includes the Hagglund ride which is loads of fun, if you have a good back.

Having spent some time in a Hagglund 'on the job' I might give that a miss!
