Citibank "4th night free" perk

I just booked a hotel in Osaka through luxury escapes, it has free cancellation but the entire amount was prepaid already, does the credit still post a few days after the transaction or only after the stay?
came within 48hrs last booking i made. I've made 3 bookings and all were very quick. Also cancelled 1 and refund was also very quick unlike the previous operators who said refunds would take 6 weeks.

Ok 1 more data point, booked yesterday and this time i was only charged for the 3 nights. When i look at the booking though it shows the total amount with the 4th night refunded. So worked out basically instant.

Note i only checked today, didn't look at the time of booking.

Just a quick question for those who have used the luxury escapes 4th night free code with their Citi Prestige mastercard - what does 'credit' mean in this scenario? is it direct refund/cashback to the Card itself, or is it luxuryescapes credit?

Adding the code and not really seeing it do anything to the cart before checkout doesnt inspire confidence. Don't want more luxuryescapes credit, but 25% off a 4 night booking is definitely worth it.

You are charged a reduced total, or charged the full amount and subsequently receive a credit on your Prestige card. It's not Luxury Escapes 'store credit'.

In my case, I was charged:
Total - (Total / 4 nights) + credit card surcharge = Final amount

Also to add, your credit card transaction may still show the full amount for a while. It will get reduced if you used the promo code properly.

I used it last week. Was charged the full amount then received a 25% credit on my card the following day. The credit showed as if it was a refund from luxury escapes not citibank.

So while the selection and prices have taken a big hit, at least they’re quick with the credit now and you can bank on getting the full 25% back.

yes, full 25% inclusive of taxes now and if you cancel the whole booking you get a refund within days. I was quoted 6 weeks from one of the previous providers.

although the operational service is significantly better the pricing and selection is significantly worse at least from when they were using expedia.

Anyone got experience with how they credit if you do a 5 night stay? The t&cs seem to suggest the rebate is one night.

Has anyone tried booking 2 rooms in the one booking with this perk? Do I get the 4th night free back based on the total booking price?

so you got the discount applied to the total booking or only against 1 room?
Technically the total booking. So against 2 rooms across two bookings in my case. No reason why it shouldn't also work for 2 rooms in one booking.

I'll include full details below for clarity what happened.

1. Booked room 1 (called Grand Deluxe) on Luxury Escapes with CITIPRESTIGE code for 4th night free.
2. Got refund for 4th night free as per usual.
3. Decided I needed an additional room so booked room 2 (called Deluxe) on Luxury Escapes with CITIPRESTIGE code. Note the two bookings are for the exact same dates as Citi does not allow consecutive bookings to avoid people getting 2 nights free out of 8.
4. Got e-mail from Luxury Escapes that second booking did not qualify as it contravenes the T&C (with an attachment of the Citi T&C).
5. I responded asking whether I can combine the two bookings to qualify.
6. They asked me to cancel the second booking and re-book the same room type (i.e. Grand Deluxe) to qualify.
7. I asked if I could simply upgrade the room (from Deluxe to Grand Deluxe) for the second booking to qualify, as this was an option under Manage by booking. I wanted to do it this way so I didn't have to wait for the hold for the booking to come off my card.
8. They responded yes, so that's what I did.
9. Got refund for 2nd booking as per usual.

that's awesome news, thanks

Has anyone booked one of those luxury escape hotel packages (e.g. all inclusive of meals) and gotten the 4th night free? Or have people been booking the regular options?

Did you get the full amount refunded when cancelling, or the full amount less the Citibank discount you already received?

was full amount less the discount,
from memory, if you look at the booking you will see the partial refund already i received the balance.

I would also like to know this if anyone has booked a package, given that now LuxPlus+ is free for Citi Prestige holders and has the inclusive packages.

Doesn't appear to take the promo code for the 4th night free if you are singed in with a LuxPlus+ account. At least not if your LuxPlus+ came from a Citi card. ( I used my partner's card for the luxPlus and tried my prestige for the promo, but no go.)

Ah damn, thanks for letting us know.
