That was pointed out in this thread earlier. Being Hertz PC its pretty easy to work out which way to go given my AClub Plat expires today!

Now if you new Hertz PC members pinch all the upgrades before I get to Hertz to pick up my Yaris and I actually get a Yaris, I wont be impressed :evil:, only kidding, I dont care that much.

Might go with Europcar in that case, been tossing up all weekend which one to pick. With the hotel programs as well as I tend to always stay in Accor properties the choice is easy

Alas no VFF, as I am Plat with PC (to end 2012), Gold with Hilton (until 3/2012) and been with Secure Sentinel since 1993?.

Not sure about Hertz - I'm #1 Club Gold, is the "Five Star" anything above it?

May be of benefit if I don't requal Hilton Gold...another year of benefits, it would be nice

It might be somewhere else in the thread, but can someone clarify if these things are "one off" (unless you upgrade your VFF status from Gold to Platinum, giving you a different set of statuses to be entitled to)?

For example, if I keep maintaining my VFF Platinum every year, will I be entitled to 6 months of HH Diamond after each review?

What if I don't keep VFF Platinum (drop that status and lose my HH Diamond as well), then another year down the track I manage to get VFF Platinum again - do I get another bite of HH Diamond cherry?

The T&Cs don't make this too clear, and from reading it it seems that you will be "cut adrift" as it were after the VFF "sponsored" (so to speak) period of membership is over, leaving you to requalify however the partner intends you to do it.

A shame, but reasonable enough. I got no hope of (re)qualifying for HH Diamond vanilla in the short term. So at least milk it for what it's worth now.


I don't suppose we could "hold off" on it? For example, say I don't elect to pick up the HH Diamond this year at all, but I requalify for Platinum. Now, can I pick it up the next year? Or I must start the complimentary status the first year I am at that elite level?

That is how I read it. Initial entry at the top of the pack but then you need to requalify each year for each granted status tier. As I read it, you select when your Elite year starts. How long you can hold this in the "Elite Bank" is unknown.

I received an email today so you were correct, it was a link to join Hertz #1 Club, I didn't proceed as I had initially applied for the Gold Version before my status had officially changed to Platinum and I submitted again as a Platinum (Was surprised it let me in the end) so I will wait for that one to come through before filling out the join request.

I am more interested in the Hilton Hhonors coming through instead... anyone got that through as yet?
