Thanks bossreggie; I was only half serious. I don't think any question put to AJ would elicit a reply which would be 'watertight'. He'd be silly to box himself into any particular position. But by all means continue the dialogue.. A current debate on AFF seems to be: "How the HELL does QF decide who gets DSC offers at any one time?" :) But assure him that it DOES get theairline lots of extra business...

re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

QF just tweeted that JQ classic awards are now cheaper by 20%. Is this what everyone was fretting over?

re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

Note: The improved points structure applies to Classic Awards on Jetstar only and is subject to availability. There are no changes to Qantas Classic Award bookings.

So only Orange enhancements, not Red...

The positive news story before the negative ?

The positive news story before the negative ?

What negative??????????????????

The scaremongering story last week had three elements:
* ASAs
* on QF
* to be axed

The reality:
* classic awards
* on JQ
* made 20% cheaper

Not really possible to be more wrong than none out of three.

I just read the first half of this thread until Red Roo posted.

I just wanted to clarify something. Its been mentioned here that JASA domestic flights are fully refundable.
So they would refund your points component as points and your cash component as cash ?

Thanks

It depends on the fare conditions which theoretically can vary, but in practice I've always found them to be fully refundable (points + money).
Note that you have to do this over the phone - if you cancel a JASA online it will convert to a credit voucher for a pitiful amount of cash and your points will vanish.

Yep they certainly refund in full BUT you must ring up for this to happen. Don't use the website under any circumstances otherwise you'll be disappointed with the outcome. I've cancelled a couple of times recently and the points return in a day or so. Also being a JASA, they'll even let you jump to an earlier flight when at the airport if one is available depending on spare seating, though being a Platinum they've normally let me do this regardless of my ticket class (unwritten rule).

Edit: Beaten

While not suggesting that this won't happen, it would make a change from their historical way of doing things. If there are mutliple changes, they are typically all announced together.

the date for changes to ASAs was updated to be the 10th of April. this was made perfectly clear, just not updated in the title.

all subsequent discussion has been about the 10th as the date.

Only to justify the lack of inclusions, I image.

Yes but never let facts get in the way of a rant

The three sector option for the KTA run without using the multi-city tool seems to be missing. So it looks like there's been some work in the background.

What day of the week were you looking? It's usually limited to (Friday or Saturday... I can't quite remember).

I tried a few different dates and it always returned bne-per-kta

Obviously I was doing something wrong then. Good to know it's still around!

OMG - Have QF FINALLY added booking classes to the booking screen? I see a new column here showing "U" booking class.

No, I suspect kevrosmith is just using a script that's floating around AFF.
