Same with a booking I changed on the weekend. Stephanie, tried everything she could to get the final confirmation for ticketing however, the problem in the system (booking made on the release date) needs intervention by others. She promised to call me back when sorted.

Just booked a JASA/FASA SYD-HKG in March next year. All done and dusted in around five minutes. It was the quickest, easiest one I have booked yet.

Stephanie just called and advised that the problem is still - a problem. No issues with the booking but can't proceed until the supervisor acts...she politely asked if it was ok to leave it with her and that she will continue to follow it up and call me with further updates.

We then shared a laugh on the amount of MASA being booked as the seats are being released almost a year out.

One of the best agents I've dealt with.

Yup, within an hour. The operator I got knew her stuff and got it all done with a minimum of fuss once I told her the dates and flight numbers. SYD-HKG on QF127 in J and return on QF 128 in F. 150k points and $859 in charges.

True to her word Stephanie called on Friday and left a message. She called again today and confirmed all is well in MASA world of future bookings.

I made two changes to the original booking 1) date change 2) added BNE-SYD J sector....so now it's BNE(J)-SYD(F)-LHR x 2

I was expecting a point charge of 3,500 x 2 + additional taxes for BNE-SYD however, got charged $150 x 2 (penalty) + $33.17 x 2 (taxes/fees) - no points deducted. Deciphering the applicable fees is confusing.

Within 20mins of ending the call the ticketing email came thru.

The final figure with all changes and fees is 384,000 + $2,062.88

Attempting to get a oneway mASA in Y CGK-SYD-MEL and they are quoting minimum 25k + 317AUD. Does this sound reasonable? Classic Award is 30k + 150USD (160AUD) but requires me to verify my card in person in Jakarta, which is an absurdity.

I would have thought that was a very good deal.

Looks ok to me. I have had to verify my card at KBL and DEL, have done this at checkin without drama.

Morning all

I've searched through this thread but can't seem to find an answer here or elsewhere. I understand ASA's will no longer be available after this month. My question is, if I book a range of ASAs now staggered over the next 12 months, will I be able to change dates of the respective bookings in the future and retain the booking as an ASA? I fly domestic every 10 or so days but hard to predict exact dates at the moment.

Cheers

To clarify, Any Seat Award bookings will still be available. However the option to book Any Seat Awards in Classic Award fare classes (X, Z, U and P) will be removed from 1 July 2014.

Changes are subject to availability and as per the conditions of the fare originally purchased. Hope this helps.

Thanks Red Roo, so how does that go in line with my questions from this thread?

The potential problem that people face is that if a legitimate change is made for ASAs in PUZX classes, will status credits and QFF points be earned on the "new" booking post June 30?

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10Apri

Just on the booking of Any seat awards online. I'm looking at Adl-akl return for January. An error message keeps popping up to say points plus pay is not available. (While technically points plus pay is not an any seat award, it is the closest online option) Is there a known problem with such a booking Red Roo? Why can't I book using points plus pay?

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10Apri

Thanks for clarifying Red Roo, but isn't an ASA after June 30 just another name for the correct product being "Points plus pay"...? Which I would add is extremely poor value of points if looking to book in the premium cabins...

I think most from July 1st will just be using points for upgrades or classics... since the cost penalty to book a Points Plus Pay / ASA is significant enough to discourage this type of "Award"...

It seems from the reply that a change can only be made if the relevant booking class exists. If the relevant booking class has been removed, you can't re book.

Therefore no SCs or anything else because no booking?

But the 'U', for business, fare bucket is not being removed. It will still exist to house Classic Awards and those who have upgraded using points.

I would expect that a JASA booked now can still be changed after 1st July so long as the requested flights are showing Classic availability.

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10Apri

Sorry if this has been answered (can't find it if it has), but I have booked a marginal ASA from Syd-Adl on 10 July. Will this earn status credits for "Business" or "Flexible Business"? Under the new table, U class is not listed in either category. Thanks!

Business

It is buried away here.

Look for "Business" - given the categories of fare buckets that are listed I would expect naught else ...
