re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

It has been a good ride for some AFFers. Time to find a new one or go back to some old ones.

Not the end of the world....

The few times I've used a JASA, I pay more than would be required for a Classic in order to get the status. QF get's that money, now that status money will return to AA. Although the thought of doing AA runs isn't nice, but I may accept it if I'm confronted with a drop down to SG.

%$##%&€¥^^ I stopped reading thread when Qantas rep denied it......a little annoyed now as I have my first JASA in may.

Exactly. I can't see much to gain for QF if they cut out ASAs.
Unless they give Classic Awards SC/point earning power.

Why do you believe it now?

I was under the impression that most experts on AFF have mentioned that status seeking is a very small use of Any Seat awards so there has to be another reason Qantas are "enhancing" them. Are a few people from AFF going to make that much difference to the bottom line?

I dare you to enhance qantas... I dare you.....

Perhaps QFF will be the new QFI, loss making and little interest from pax...

Virgin must love reading this thread :)

the burn rates can't possibly change unless they go down!! feel free to correct me but I think they are already, without doubt, the highest of any airline in the world?? and they are combined with excessive fees and charges.

they couldn't go any higher, but I can't see why they would make them any lower either...

re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

I wish they could bring them lower like MH levels.

dont worry... in reducing the notice requirement for ff changes to just three months... you know absolutely nothing good can be on the way.

They don't follow the three months anyway. Or 6 months as it was.

They removed the status bonus earn for BA with ~17 days notice.

I've written to QF on this issue but surprise surprise no response whatsoever....

The mostly likely thing is that come this rumoured date, there'll be yet another date 4-6 weeks later. Rinse and repeat.

So you think that Any Seat Awards earning SCs should get even cheaper?

You seriously expect QF to give you a written response confirming or denying something they have yet to announce publicly.

I think he/she meant more a written response as to why BA status bonus was removed with ~17 days notice when in their terms and conditions, it says they will give members three months notice for any changes.

It actually says they will use best endeavours to give 3 months notice. This is not a guarantee for changes outside qantas' control like the BA thing.

I don't buy the "outside of Qantas' control.

@ moa - I don't think you actually read my post. I asked QF to honour the status bonus points for the booking I made with BA (partially made based on the basis of the points earn) given they gave < 3 months feedback. A "no" response would have been preferable to no response.

re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

yeah... while BA may have paid qf for those points... I think qf should have just picked up the tab for any existing bookings and just awarded the points...

At the end of the day, it's QFF, not BAFF that I'm a member of, and I made a purchase decision based on one set of rules then changed after purchase.
