With QF track record of enhancements, any E would be more likely a backward step: time on the phone, limited options, booking fee, higher points costs....

The thing that is different here is that on the previous occasions no one at the premium lines or other sources were talking directly about the changes unlike this afternoons cooments as per my 2 posts earlier.

I woulld say that ASA's are not going they are just going to be shown differently and NO YOU will not need to call to make ASA or classic Awards.

Well I've just booked my JASA for next year, purely because of this speculation. I got burnt with the J* changes a few years ago when they enhanced their Star Class and the price increased dramatically.

Got a Nice AKL-LAX return for 168k points plus NZ$800 approx.

And a nice lady from Qantas just rang me to say my Amex was declined. They hold the seat for 48 hours so I can check with the bank and call back.

Rang Westpac and apparently Amex is the issue, their systems are very slow at the moment due to over use. No problems with my card. They suggested I call Qantas in a couple of hours and get them to try again.

So, if you're booking your ASA's tonight using your Amex you may have a delay.

From my perspective, the info is useful, regardless of where the dart falls on the board. It doesn't have to hit the bulls-eye to count as a throw.
