Just for interest, for anyone who hasn't been to an outdoors store in the US .... some more photos from Cabela's near SLC:

A nice pink rifle for your little girl, to match her barbie ....

Some pink or purple revolvers for the ladies

Only a fairly limited sample of what was there.

Now I grew up around guns and hunting, but this was something else. I started to feel really uneasy after about 10 minutes of being in there. Assault rifles, pistols, human-shaped targets ... it all got a bit much!

Ah, I don't know because I didn't end up going on it. I was in Beijing for three days and didn't go to the Great Wall - don't ask me why, I don't have an explanation

So I will have to go back for that.

I didn't hit a Peking duck restaurant in Peking either I thought having the duck by myself was going a bit too far. I did try a Peking duck restaurant in Shanghai when I got to go with a friend, wasn't that amazed. And since then reputedly the premiere place to go, Quanjude, has opened a branch here in Melbourne - been a couple of times and I find myself preferring duck served with more and crispier skin as at some other restaurants. I seem to like an evolved version of the dish rather than the purist version. So not too sorry about missing that while in Beijing.

I did see Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City... didn't see blue sky during my stay there though...
