I can't even think it - because it happens...

24.5 Yadav to Rogers, OUT, gone! And that is a very soft dismissal. It's shortish, angling down the leg side, and Rogers looks to tuck it away around the corner, and ends up gloving it down the leg side to the keeper

CJL Rogers c †Dhoni b Yadav 55 (79b 10x4 0x6) SR: 69.62

with the comments at tea:

2.55pm A third wicket at the stroke of tea means Australia will have two new batsmen when they return. They will be disappointed that Watson threw away his wicket. He and Rogers were going at a rapid clip, and India have got both of them without really being made to work hard for it. Australia trail by 287.

Drinks with us at 3/165, S Marsh 26 and Smith 23. Then Smith has opened his arms and hit two 6's and a 4 from the first over after tea (Ashwin). Now 3/182

It's interesting that in this test match, everyone (apart from the tail-enders) has made a start, but rarely built upon it.

That's rubbish. Umpires take too much power.

Early stumps today due to bad lights, with us still trailing by 187 runs with 4 wickets down. Smith seems to be enjoying batting at #4, and we'll need to him to get to 3 figures and/or some tail-enders magic tomorrow to keep the match in balance.

I went to see some clients and as I stepped out of my car, heard Shaun Marsh get out for 32 (4/208 at that stage). Also missed Smiths half century. Stumps 4/221 with Smith on 65.

Checked the BOM website and advised clients would have to have an express meeting (they were happy). Wrapped it up in 25 mins and by that time, the wind was blowing stuff everywhere out on the street. It looked ugly and I was in an area where there isn't a lot of off-street parking, so lead-footed it back to my office, just making it before the heaviest of the rain hit (thankfully no hail) and parked the car.

Hope the pitch is okay.

I'm off to MEL in the morning (5am flight), so will miss most of the days play and posting here. But I'll be back on Saturday and at the game. Get ready for on the spot posting with photos.

So with the lack of posts Australia have improved their chance of a good day?:p:shock::oops::lol:;)

Funny guy drron. I arrive in MEL and will be on the Skybus when play starts. I have an hour before my appointment, which should take an hour. Then back to the airport and QC - wifi all the way.

Should get some posts done during the morning sessions.

Here is the Vijay dismissal on Cricinfo

Lyon to Vijay,OUT, ... and it's paid off. Vijay comes down the track and goes for the big hit again. Was making room to go over mid-off and it went with the angle past his outside edge and Haddin makes the easy stumping. Hang on, they've had another look at it, and there was a thin edge through to the keeper, so it's a caught behind and not a stumping.

Out stumped but they checked the replay and gave him out caught? Why? And more importantly if they can do this with a stumping then why not check if the player given out actually hit the ball and the ball did not come off the helmet?

Too much inconsistency.

Because if it hit the bat and the keeper has sufficient control of the ball to effect the stumping, it's a catch. So he's out via the chronologically earlier dismissal.

Anyone else receive the suite with Merv Hughes invitation from ANZ? Day 2, $325 for the day, 40 person suite (Invite only the email says).

I'm seriously tempted to fly down for the day given I can't get over to the Gabba this week.

Why would they review a potential catch when he was out stumped anyway? Makes no sense.

And if they judged it was out caught why wouldn't you adjudicate on a caught dismissal to ensure that it didn't come off helmet? You are checking for no ball anyway.

Appointment in MEL finished and on my way back to airport. Briefly caught up with JessicaTam. Looks like Shaun Marsh left one to his detriment and Haddin went cheaply, but Johnson & Smith are righting the wobbly ship.

Thought we were gone with Haddin out but Johnson is teaching them a batting lesson.

Sitting next to Damian Fleming in the Island Dining area of MEL J Lounge now. Can't wait for him to get off the phone so I can ask some questions whilst it's lunch at The Gabba

He can't believe how poorly the bowlers have played this morning - especially Ishanti. Was effusive in his praise for Hazlewood who he thinks WILL be the next McGrath. He can't make the test as he has BBL commitments - he commentated on last nights match and off to Sydney tonight
