Steve Smith puts down Kohli at second slip - a chance off Starc. India 2/220 with Kohli on 58

Didn't see that one, but he dropped a skyed catch earlier. Probably lost it in the sun; he was pointing upwards and was pretty unhappy at something. Appeared not to be the camera-on-a-wire, but may have distracted. There was also a missed 'sitter' run-out.

I think both sides are mentally on holidays, with the series decided and result either way unlikely in this game.

Rahul out finally for 110:

But Kohli is rushing to his century, thrashing five 4's everywhere in the past 3 overs.

3/268

I predict a draw.....
Not with that umpire on our side. Into the tail already. Huge first innings lead.

This particular umpire has influenced enough in this series to date. DRS not the answer. An umpire is the answer.

Stumps Day 3:

Based on the last day and 45 mins, can't see us getting 15 wickets in 2 days...

Kohli definitely shoring his ability with bat

That's interesting about the alleged spidercam issue. Would have to say that it detracts from the "space" that the players should have on the field. Likewise I have seen vision of one being hit by a ball hit by a batsman. All we need now is one hit by a fielder

Love these comments. But not if your an Aussie fanatic. ;)

"Seems like a little bit more uneven bounce, and odd movement. This pitch should become the typical SCG graveyard come tomorrow afternoon. Hazlewood could come into his own then, his height and bounce will make each delivery a nightmare."

followed by

"Hazlewood has been anything but a nightmare, more like a day dream..."

Good to see Kohli (147) and Saha (35) out already this morning but also a dropped catch by Joe Burns at short leg off Lyon.

7/391.

If they held all their chances, they would be batting again now.

Can someone watching the coverage please explain why Kumar was given out by third umpire?

A gentle appeal referred to third umpire? Yet a catch of helmet given out is ignored.

I am trying really hard to understand the inconsistency.

The third umpire comes into play for some but not all types of issues. It depends what the problem is but the end result is that it can appear to be random.

It is random. Why review one catch and not another?

I'm with the underdog. All decisions going to the bullies.

Because it depends on why it's being reviewed. If the umpire isn't sure I think it can be reviewed for legal delivery but not for example if the batsman actually hit it.
