AUS vs BAN you mean. AUS vs SL is at the SCG on 8 March. Tried to get tickets but it was sold out a while back. Now looking at ENG vs AFG! At least the 'minor' games have cheap tickets. Best seats in the house are $40. Compare that with nearly $100 to sit in the outer at a Test match.
Thanks for the update on the opposition team, it has been almost a year since I signed up for the purchase.

Not specifically apropos the World Cup, but the linked article re Ch 9 telecast (specifically the commentary team) is a very good read for any cricket fan.

Just not cricket

Yes I read that in The Guardian last week and could hardly agree more. Hard to believe we'd be looking back to the niggling aggro between Bill and Tony with nostalgia. I usually just listen on the radio. Sometimes if Ch Nein doesn't bother to show a game I can find it online somewhere. A bit delayed with the action compared with the radio though. What it means is that on slow work days I can have the radio on and then look to the second monitor if something big happens.

Bangers vs Aghanistan in Canberra today. Good crowd they say. I'm backing AFG!

Poms just rolled by NZ in Wellington. All out 123. Tim Southee took 7 wickets.

At least NZ is giving the crowd their money's worth. 0-104 after 7 overs. 15 an over.

Some articles today are already predicting that tomorrow's Australia v Bangladesh at the Gabba will be a washout.

Kevin Mitchell, the curator of the Gabba, has put on record that he doesn't believe the game will proceed - more to do with the weather than the state of the ground

Just watched Sky Sports News coverage of the NZ v ENG game. Tim Southee was unplayable - swing and a magnificent yorker. Then it looked like Brendan McCullum had promised his wife he'd be home for dinner!! Fastest 50 in World Cup history (18 balls).

Unplayable by the English team.....looking forward to reading the English press coverage as they are not too supportive.

In the "old" days, major cricket matches, Test, Sheffield and One Dayer's were always scheduled early in the season in Brisbane because of the likelihood of washouts later in the season. Which also worked well in the Southern states where the reverse applied.

They probably didn't have much choice given the huge number of one Dayer's in the WC but they shouldn't be surprised if a washout occurs.

Windies knocked up 310 vs Pakistan and a moment ago Pakistan was 4 for 1. That's 4 wickets, not runs!

Should really kick out the minnows. These uncompetitive games are boring...

Most of the matches are boring. There are scores of pre final matches and then when you finally get to the good teams playing against each other it's sudden death.

Southee is a quality bowler and will cause Australia a lot of trouble in future matches
