Shock! Rustic indeed! No bidet! ;)

LOL! Norway luxury is pretty thin on the ground. The properties that do have it all are pretty remotely located and therefore, require a decent number of nights to make it worth while. Bergen, Tromsø and Oslo are bereft of good properties IMO.

All I can say is it was lucky you were on your way home! :)

It was a NZ Sav Blanc ... probably another reason I forgot the photo ;)

First day in Bergen. It was a touch cold at -5 however, the sky was clear and the sun was shining

Views of Bergen.

Lovely town. As you can see timber is the main theme... some are extremely small.

Forget the food - what was purchased?

I see reindeer sausage is served a lot in Alaska - our next jaunt. Taste? I am not into gamey foods.

When I walked into this place I wasn't thinking good thoughts however, the food and service was good. The restaurant was recommended - I'm sure I would have walked right passed it without getting the tip. I'd happily eat here again.

Clothes, jackets, teddy bears, gifts .. the job lot!

The sauce wasn't heavy however, I found it light, no fat and the opposite to what I know game to taste. I liked it... had it again later in the trip.

Go for it Pushka

Norway in a Nutshell http://www.norwaynutshell.com/en/explore-the-fjords/norway-in-a-nutshell/#about

Great name - basically public transport bundled together to provide an efficient way to view some of the sights.

We did the Bergen round trip via Voss;

Train, Bergen-Voss
Bus, Voss-Gudvangen
Fjord Cruise, Gudvangen-Flam
The Flam Railway, Flam-Myrdal
Train, Myrdal-Bergen

Big day! Depart Bergen 08:43 ... Arrive back in Bergen 17:58

Spectacular day! We had the best time - this is a must when visiting Norway IMHO

When we went (with another couple) in 2013 and we stayed in apartments... they (particularly the one in Tromso) were quite luxurious... 2 levels with gorgeous views and very modern facilities.. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the apartment but this is the view...

We left the train at Voss and waited around 10mins for the bus.
