LOL if they served Du Pape for breakfast - I'd never leave ;)

Du Pape for breakfast is a bit too full on for me ;)
But they do say "life is magnifique" a lot :)
Their marketing campaigns obviously penetrate my subconscious :-|

loving the photos amaroo - we do love a sancerre - haven't found a bad one yet - though there was that dodgy one at spice temple in melbourne...

On our way to our favourite Paris shop we walked past Les Halles. Major construction site nearing completion... should look fantastic.

E. Dehillerin - love this place.

Can spend hours in here...

Paperwork sorted - we now have more copper winging its way home :D

I can't believe how long the whole Le Halles project has taken. Its been a building site for about a decade.

SWMBO loves Dehillerin; it is a cornucopia of all things cooking.

Place des Voges - our hotel is located within the building that surrounds this lovely square. It's the reason we decided to stay here.

Place des Vosges | Le Marais Paris | PARISMARAIS®

This is a magic part of Paris - the oldest planned square in the city, and the prettiest IMO.

Place des Voges is basically the front yard of our hotel - just beautiful!

excellent choice amaroo. A SLH. We stayed there a few years ago..loved the honesty bar for afternoon/evening drinks. We flucked an upgrade there and had a wonderful junior suite and a complementary bottle of champagne when we checked it -- Ruinart Rose - first time we'd tried it and absolutely loved it..i'm sure being free added to the tasting experience.

Love your choose in shops - we discovered it in September and the boss stocked up on escargot accessories... i am really enjoying your photos and comments..so many great memories

Oysters and snails. All that's missing is cuisses de grenouille.
I remember I used to serve them (crumbed and fried) at dinner parties in the 1970s - don't think I've had them since. I do remember a particular dinner where one guest was in the early stages of pregnancy and found the entree a bit difficult especially as her spouse and mine made croaking sounds and referred to Kermit! (Such class)

The project does look to be long in the tooth ... should be a very nice place when completed.

E.Dehillerin turns 200 in 2020 - what a history! IMHO this is a must visit when in Paris.

Ordered from the noodle bar and had a glass or two of the bubbles. Small lounge with a decent view of the action.
