Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

This looks like a very good menu. Can't wait for the Wagyu Carpaccio on my next visit, which will go well with the Coldstream Hills Pinot I think. The meatballs also sound very interesting so I might have to 'research' those too :) Glad I've got a few trips through SYD and MEL during winter to try out all of this. Good effort QF.

Thanks for the kind words. Good luck with your research. Please keep us updated. :)

I'll be back there Wednesday 12/6 and sadly, will be too early for the pavlova yet again.

Still, the Buttermilk pancakes with banana, strawberries, whipped butter & maple syrup might have to be taste tested with a report and photographs to follow. Just for AFF you understand. ;)

Oh yeah with the pancakes. I will certainly be trying them Sunday morning after my scrambled eggs, tomatoes and 2 strips of bacon. Taking Mrs Dmac in for the first time. Seems as though the food isn't as appealing as the Tatt, Vueve, Bollinger etc.
Could be an interesting flight to Singapore....!!!

Good of you to take one for the team.

Looking forward to Mrs Dmac's review. Cheers. :)

I have boarded QF11 now so it is too late for that. As an aside, in J, didn't we use to be able to get a steak sandwich etc as a snack mid flight? I note it does not appear on the current menu.

It was a dam good steak sandwich at that!!

Sorry to hear if that's been taken off the menu

I wonder if this is because I think the small plates can be ordered instead - not 100% sure on that.

Some menu photos.

[-]I'll have to fix the dessert photo.[/-] Fixed!

Sweet and sour duck laarb.

A bit of a kick, not colourfully done like I have seen others, but 8/10 for this Thai salad aficionado.:D

Whats the market specials which have been missing on the menus so far?

(Asks in the interest of research for a pending 5 hour visit Sunday) :)

Soup - coriander and sweet potato soup

Twice cooked Pork Belly

Zucchini and something pasta.

Chicken/Polenta

As a combination, quite good. Separately each did not work - 6/10

(5/10 Is a good rating for me and I'd happily order again)

I had the duck laarb in March - interesting flavours and something I wouldn't have ordered if I had not been in the FLounge :).
It was an enjoyable start to the rest of my meal.
