Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

I haven’t previously been to the SYD F lounge with kids who eat (only an infant pre-Covid). Do they have a special menu? Or can we just be creative with what’s there to make it a bit kid friendly?

Yes, there's a children's menu available, with nuggets and chips, basic pasta, that kind of thing. You can try that if your Kid wants something on it, or order from the standard menu.

My kids always ordered from the standard menu. Not really interested in the kids menu. Maybe my kids are spoilt :)

Don't think pics of the tofu dumplings and beef brisket have been posted, so l thought I'd share these (from a friend at SYD, late evening). Dumplings average but the brisket was apparently excellent. Kids had burgers which were filling but otherwise also pretty average.

Menu in MEL tonight.

In the dining area everyone sitting quietly apart from some ****fit having a phone conversation on loudspeaker.

I have moved tables to be as far away as possible.

First F lounge experience the other week prior to travelling out on the morning EK flight to CHC. Qudos to QF for their generous family allowance policy. I was travelling with wife and 3 minors, and no issue at all getting in. It’s little things like this that keep me locked in chasing QF status from work flights.

No tables immediately available for our party size so we were escorted into a section that hadn’t been opened. The chocolate croissant smuggled out was divine and enjoyed above the Tasman.

Wow - was that on a QF flight number?

SYD F still on the winter menu today. I know these won't be around for much longer, but a few pics anyway

A $20 bottle of plonk gets the decanter treatment?
I wasn't impressed.

I just missed it, so looking forward next time. PS Steffie's? back running the place after opening the Qantas SIN F lounge and then working in the hotels.

Reports out of MEL F lounge today/right now is abit of caos. 2 delayed flights dallas & jakarta. 5 min wait at reception. no room in dining room. sat at uncleared lounge table, and left without clearing. waiting for clean champagne glasses. wet menu (winter) and 30 min wait for food.

Last couple of times I've been in SYD F it's been quite quiet in the late Frday afternoon. Haven't had any trouble getting a room (suite).
