Nice. I’ll be visiting the FLounge in a few days myself and will arrive in the afternoon.

Winter breakfast menu in the SYD F lounge today:

Practically identical to the autumn breakfast menu except the buckwheat, mushroom and spinach bowl, which was not quite as expected - was imagining soba noodles. It was fine but forgettable, probably wouldn't order again.

Corner fritters for good measure - delicious as always.

Just missed you - we were in there before QF161 to WLG. Quite busy but service was solid, we had a few Pommery’s, then shared a fruit plate, yoghurt and figs, followed by a ham and cheese omlette and a signature breakfast.

Heading to the SYD Flounge as a P1 in F in just over a week so I'll see if this roped off area is legit. I have often seen that last section roped off (at least the last time I was there) but I thought it was just a staff shortage issue. Never been offered to go there as a P1 in J in the past.

Whilst I'm here, does anyone have the latest LAX QF Flounge menu? I'll have 5 or so hours to kill at LAX before an AA flight to LHR and I might head there before wandering to Flagship.

I was in LAX a few days ago but didn’t think to get a photo of the menu. 😳

From memory I had the tarragon chicken and it was quite good. And they had Penfold’s Max as the red. Oh, and Taittinger as the bubbles! 👍

I had the “minute steak” a few weeks ago. It was probably cooked a minute too long…😳

how does it taste with the brioche? wondering if I should give it go on my next visit

Flavour on top was fine, quote good, but the bread was soft and, well, bready. In the end I left half of the bread, scraping the topping off.

thanks @serfty , so order it but something else as well as expect to just enjoy the topping :)
Wondering if it is possible to ask the dish to be served on a sourdough or some other bread, instead of brioche? Not apples-to-apple comparison, I usually have the corn fritters without the bacon - granted it is easier to NOT add bacon rashers to the dish ...

The bread did not appear to have been toasted, but that may have been a facet the bread. The mussels were quite tasty.

The red ropes are still in place…

Meanwhile, the lamb bao had “Asian flavours” but duck or pork probably works best.

S&P squid as usual - see other thread!

Snapper was way over cooked to the point of rubbery

But apparently the duck was good.

and deserts!

I was at the SYD FLounge yesterday. MEL is my local but why fly direct when you can fly indirect?

Enjoyed a few servings of the S & P Squid (though would have been better without the chilli), the Duck and the pavlova plus a few other dishes.

Qantas excels when least expected. Accompanied a guest into Syd Flounge recently. Upon seeing a J lounge invite attached to the guest, Lounge Angel volunteered to telephone the business lounge to have the invite disassociated from Guests flight to reuse another time. Upon leaving same QF person called me to front desk to advise success. Most generous by Qantas. I had thought within 24 hours of travel lounge invites could not be changed.

The P1/F section was in operation a couple of weeks ago.
I was only there for breakfast but it was much less of a zoo than the rest of the lounge. Good service.
I even managed to get a Spa appointment on arrival !!

Syd F lounge Breakfast (mid-June). As a QF P1 traveling in F... no escort or direction to go to the roped off area. Funnily enough... I had friends on the same flight traveling in F as WPs who got full escort treatment to roped off area 🤣

This was an interesting message to receive before the flight... ie no hot breakfast into LAX. More than made up for with fruit and bakery options.

Corn fritters. Always good.

Pancakes. Was now bursting at this point (for research purposes of course).

All in all another great experience with the hot rock massage also a highlight.

I've had domestic upgrades to J come through within the 24 hours, and a quick request online has always resulted in QP passes being reinstated - of course this proactive service from F lounge is another level! 👍
